So, remind me why it’s important to rush to burn in this dry climate. Doesn’t make sense to me. Can’t we wait until it snows or rain?

I’m working on another project for about another month. Hope we get some more burn days in February. No time to burn right now. 🙁

You are still required to have a campfire permit for a warming fire according to the Ranger station below Avery.

A “warming fire” is allowed regardless of the conditions or if it is not a burn day.

tortuga, we just want to get our burning started during the daylight hours. Once it’s burning, we’re not too worried about how cold it is.

allen- once you get the fire going, it’s pretty toasty outside. But yeah, we were itching to start at 530 when it was pitch black and COLD enough already!

Been here since ’94 and this is the first time I can remember night burning in the fall. It’s always been night burning in late spring in the past. I think the person or people in charge of burning took too many of these pills:

It’s a whopping 30 or so degrees outside now at 7:00 pm.

    Tonight! after 7PM!

Currently burning allowed 7PM-8AM subject to air quality. Yesterday no burning, tonight it’s a go!

I have a hunch it will be after we have a couple of more good rain or snow storms. I have a lot of stuff to burn myself but I guess it will have to remain covered for now. 🙁

Any educated guesses out there on when we will be able to fire up our burn pits?
