Actually she and I learned that private messages are not the same as they were on the old site. The only person(s) who can read a private message are the original poster of the thread and the admin (Joe), and even that doesn’t always work. So when I could read her private message to me, my reply to her could only be read by me!!! Joe plans to work on this in the coming months. In the meantime we thank him for his help and for this outstanding website. And yes, I am getting my GS cookie fix this weekend.

We too are on Shoshone up against SPI land. My husband is John and he walks the Mastiff (Gigabyte) who you may have noticed. (hard to miss!!)
We don’t downhill ski, we xcountry and will not be up until Mon or Tues assuming the predicted snow at Bear Valley happens. We will probably stay through the following week end. Would love to get the cookies. Too bad we won’t be there to crash the beer and burgers party! LOLHere is the first “private message” that I sent. Includes my direct email.

Hi Tortuga. Thanks for replying to my GS cookies question. I like Samoas better then Caramel DeLites! Where are you finding Samoas? I am in the flatland right now and the local council here (Stockton) sells the Caramel DeLites.
The two are certainly similar. The ingredient/calorie/carb/etc list is similar but different. Crazy people that we are I sent Caramel Delites to a daughter in WA and to one in PA so that they could do blind taste tests with their local Samoas. I’d love more Samoas! I’m on Shoshone against SPI land. We’ll get to Dton 930ish tonight and ski tomorrow until slushiness, then beer and burgers on the deck. Let me see if I can get the second box for you…I guess we need help from Techman —- I can not read your private reply either! Can’t see it here, and it didn’t come to my email.

Samoas and Caramel DeLites though similar are different from one another. They are made by different companies and each local council decides which to sell. Several of the GS cookies have different names from different manufacturers. Personally I like Samoas better than Caramel DeLites, but have not been able to find Samoas. Our family is in the midst of doing blind taste tests on the two! How is that for a good excuse to eat more. LOL
