According to the Enterprise, the Rim Fire was caused by an illegal campfire started by a hunter that got out of control.
They have not released the hunter's name but hopefully they know who it is and they'll charge him with a felony and throw him in jail for the rest of his life like they would any other eco terrorist that caused so much damage.
