We just got home to the Bay Area from out CC cabin. Roads leaving Meko/Ottawa area were one lane with a foot of fresh snow on top at 1100 this morning. I love our county plow folks and know they do the best they can, but their equipment can only move snow from one area to another part of the street. With no blowers (that I’ve ever seen), they scrap the snow into a berm, only to have it fall down behind them (except for the occasional drive way to plug up).

Hiway 4 going down had lots of downed trees on the side of the road all the way to Arnold, then the rain started and the roads were clear of snow.

Did see over 20 PG&E trucks either going up Hiway 4 or staged in the BTV Market parking lot. Oh, and one lone Comcast truck…. Best of luck and safety to those folks. That’s gotta be tough work.

I tried to edit the post, but couldn’t figure it out. My career was in the coffee business so typing “roast” comes out of nowhere sometimes.

I hope the power doesn’t stay down too long. I was thinking of coming up to start the wood stove to help protect things.

Does anyone have any reports on how Highway 4 is doing between Arnold and BTV? Are the roads in BTV plowed?

Looks like there’s still plenty of snow due over the next several days.
