I didn’t see that anyone responded to the question about Rowleys. The answer is yes, they are open every day (although it is no longer Rowleys, it was sold 3 years ago, but you can still find phone and other info by googling Rowleys). They are much more reasonable than I thought. I ended up paying them twice what they asked for. Support this local business.

Does anyone know if Rowleys is open this season for disposal of pine needles? hours of operation?

Richie Westmoreland clears our lot twice per year. He is responsive to emails, text and phone calls. The best number to reach him: 209-419-0045.

    Hi,

Thanks to the 2 folks that replied this year.

    Any more recommendations?

For just pine needles we refer Jherret Greene 209-559-8182 He is on the list of vendors and our snow clients seem to be happy with him.

This year I used Kevin Smith. I haven’t seen the work did, but he sent photos and it looked good. His email is goldriver74@yahoo.com He charged $300 for the clean up and $100 for debris disposal. I think that’s a good price.

Second the recommendation for Gonzalo Barbosa. I’ve used him for several years and he always does a great job. He just recently cleaned my lot from the March storm and IT WAS A MAJOR MESS! He’s the best!!

    We use Gonzalo Barboza 209-822-8204.
I have no complaints about his service.
Answers the phone, or at least when I have called.
Frank Stone recommended him years ago. His name is on the Big Trees website now.

Still trying. Anyone have a contact that will actually respond to phone messages? 0 for 5 so far the past two weeks.

I would hope that the lot clearing requirements are not delayed or cancelled this year. With the ongoing drought and all of the branches and trees that came down during the March storm, the fire load it still very high. And although the crowds are not up there now, I believe that they will come in large numbers when the current restrictions are removed. The surge of visitors may well come at the height of the fire season. For those of you who normally clean your own lots, maybe this year you could hire a local contractor to do the work. The businesses up there have taken a big hit and the infusion of a few extra dollars into the local economy would be a big help.

So, this coming weekend, the last weekend in April, is typically when I start my lot cleanup. I time it to coincide with the stream trout season opener. Obviously, that will not happen this year. Has there been any word if the forest service will be delaying or even cancelling lot inspections this year? I know fire season does not shelter in place, but with no people coming up to the mountains the fire risk should be greatly reduced.
