There are no critters in the area that pose a threat to humans – other than the mosquitoes and yellow jackets. Even the few mountain lions in the area will give you a wide berth provided you give them the chance.
Keep your pets in a safe area, and secure your garbage. Then enjoy being in the company of the wildlife in the area.
The folks in the city face far more threatening (mostly two legged) critters.

If you can’t hang with the animals, stay in the city

I read the following information on another local site up here. It upset me and made me sad. If this information is not correct, please let us know.
“Please remember if you call animal control regarding any animal including bears and cubs and they are trapped they will be destroyed. Many people believe they will be relocated, but it is the law and they must be destroyed. When an animal is sick, injured or a danger, then, of course, you must call. If wild animals do not have food they will go back into the forest, keep your garbage locked up and your barbeque clean.”
Another person on that site responded with this.
“If you call animal control regarding wildlife they then call the County Trapper, they work together and once you make that call it is hard to reverse”
I have seen several bears and other animals in my area, I would hate for someone to report them.
