I think the entire project was a disaster. Just my opinion. It will be interesting to see how well the new paint holds up.

As I recall, the old pavement was in fine shape and didn’t really need to be re-paved anyway.

Yes, the project was interrupted and delayed a few times. I thought they would never finish! 🙂

If I remember correctly, the hwy 4 re-paving was interrupted by early fall/winer rains. The line striping was poorly applied and faded almost immediately.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if it does happen, or at least partially happen. I started noticing the sinking about three months ago and it seems to get worse every time I drive up the road from Arnold. I honestly thought my engine was misfiring at first. Kind of felt like the engine was “surging” coming up. Took me a while to figure out it’s the road, not my truck.

And did anyone notice how long the centerline paint lasted? What, six months tops?

    BTW, Asphalt, not Asphaly! 🙂

    Hopefully THIS doesn’t happen!

Anyone else noticed coming up the hill from Arnold in a truck (or maybe a car) with fairly stiff suspension, it feels like the engine is mis-firing? The new asphalt has sunken in several places, causing this “illusion” of the engine misfiring. I’m attaching a photo that was taken between Camp Connell General Store and Ottawa on Highway 4. The photo is poor quality because I had to digitally zoom in (crop) to see the sunken asphalt.
