    Hi Julia,

    We had to do the insurance dance a couple of months ago for our cabin in BTV, and AAA was able to hook us up with the FAIR plan, and a homeowners policy to fill in the gaps. They were even able to give us an exception to their usual requirement that you have a primary homeowners policy with them (we would, except our primary residence is a commercial building, which they don’t insure). I found them helpful and easy to work with.

    You could also try Tom Pratt @ Delos Insurance (209) 206-3390 – he gave us a quote that was about the same as AAA, and was also helpful.

    Hi Julia,
    For fire you can check “California Fair Plan”. You will need homeowners on top of it. I think AAA is still writing policies in the area.

    Hi all. We just received a notice from our insurer notifying us that it is not going to renew our policy that is coming up on Feb. 2. I know this topic has been discussed before, but the posts are somewhat dated. Has anyone had success with finding homeowners insurance lately?
