I’m looking into AAA. If they can insure the place, it would be only for the market value, no upgrades. The place was built in 1953 so that would be OK.
CSAA, our flatlands insurer, would not insure us in the mountains, but they brokered a deal with another insurer – Burns&Wilcox. Their quote was about the same as a broker in Angels Camp that our real estate agent referred us to and less than other quotes from flatlands brokers.
We had a heck of a time finding insurance, too, when we bought three years ago. We ended up with Liberty Mutual. They lucked out and got all of our other business. Sorry Allstate……
Are any companies writing homeowner’s polices up here now? We have other houses along with our cabin insured with State Farm, but our agent says they aren’t writing any new policies in high fire danger ares. We’re thinking about getting another place in Dorrington. 🙁
