Since we have a motion sensor light in front, I took Uttb suggestion and turned off the night vision on the Drop cam.that is inside the cabin. That works pretty darn good.
Yesterday we installed the Drop Cam pro on the outside in the outdoor case. So far it is working great. Will give an update on that later.
Steve, the outdoor case is made by Drop cases, so guessing it is a different company.June 2, 2015 at 8:48 pm #3347caleachParticipantIs the out door attachment finally fro drop cam or is it third party?

I will try turning off the night vision on the Drop Cam (not a pro) that is currently installed, as we have motion sensors lights as well.
I am very happy with the one that is there now, so this newer version should be even better.June 1, 2015 at 9:26 pm #3340caleachParticipantI havenot figured out a way to get rid of the glare unless I drape a black cloth over the camera.
Does the Pro level cameral come with an official outdoor enclosure or its it 3rd party?
My real goal was to keep track of snow levels during the winter so I knew whether to call for the snow plow or not.

May 30, 2015 at 5:09 pm #3333gagacabinParticipantThanks Steve for the info. We currently have a drop cam on the windowsill, it works great. I get a glare from the window once it gets dark. Have you figured out how to stop that? Was waiting for some responses, so today, I got the drop cam pro with the outdoor attachment, will hook it up on Monday.
After looking at lots of outdoor cameras, I just couldn’t find one easier to install then the DropCam.May 30, 2015 at 4:54 pm #3332caleachParticipantI think a lot depends on what you expect from the camera. Cloud recording, pan and tilt, outdoor or indoor. Sometime a dropcam sitting on a windowsill looking out at a portion of you property is all it takes.
I know there are many people with more sophisticated systems and knowledge than me so hopefully someone else responds.
SteveMay 28, 2015 at 10:01 am #3324gagacabinParticipantI know there was a discussion about security cameras on here, but I can’t seem to find it.
I would like some suggestions on brands of cameras etc. Thanks. -
