I think that was their ditch and shoulder improvements. They also had a water truck wetting down areas they cleaned and pumping water through the culverts. I wish they would have taken more dirt from our ditch but I had recently cleaned it because I needed some extra dirt to fill an area behind our place where I built a retaining wall. I guess they figured I had it like I wanted it and left it alone.

I’m a little late in responding to this note but: When the crew cleaned up in front of my cabin I was there and they said they were doing it to prepare the way for “ditch and shoulder improvements”. Could this be true? Some of the culverts are getting buried and some ditches are filling with debris. . .

Overall I think they did a good job. They were pretty nice if you were here. I have an oak tree that’s on my side of the water ditch and they asked me if I wanted it cut down or leave it alone. I kept the tree but I’m not sure what they would have done if I had been gone.

The county road department contracted with the cal-fire hand crews to clear brush from the streets to aid the snowplowing effort.

Haven’t been up in a few weeks. I was surprised to see that someone has cleared all the street side brush on the entire street. I’ve been here for a few years, I don’t recall ever seeing this before. I guess it’s nice that someone did this … but they were a bit aggressive on hacking away and ripped out what I thought was some very nice and mature natural vegetation in my yard, that wasn’t encroaching on the street nor the gutter zones. Any comments?
