I was also going to suggest the Nest. It is getting rave reviews.

Try the Nest, works well for us.

Of course, one of the big problems is that almost always when we loose power, we loose internet. I know some folks have a dialup connection to their thermostat.

We found out yesterday that our furnace was not working because parts had frozen. EPG came out to defrost it and got it up and running. We also have renters and cleaners coming and going and fiddling with the thermostat settings, so I’d like to be able to monitor the cabin temperature from home to make sure it’s not too warm or too cold after the last person has left. I have 2 wifi security cameras which are working well, but now I’d also like to be able to monitor the temperature. Being able to actually control the thermostat would be nice, but is not a requirement. Do you guys have suggestions?
