I’ve done that hike a LOT beginning when I was 13 (I’m now 72). Deer hunting and fishing mostly. Years ago the fishing was wonderful, and the brook trout were delicious. I don’t think there are any more fish in the lake because it has silted in and freezes all the way to the bottom. There may be fish in the stream below the dam.

Late May, we attempted to hike Woodchuck Basin but lost the trail due to lingering snow. Three weeks later, the snow has melted and the wild flowers are out in bloom. While googling WB info, I came across the wonderful video that was posted by none other than our own Big Trees Tech Joe. This is a grand little hike and I highly recommend it.
