InactiveJust received a full measured cord of 16" almond from "Salvador" @ 209 368-3684. Delivered price, $250.00 per cord. He needs to haul two cords at a time to make the trip to Dorrington worthwhile, so you may consider splitting the load or working it out with him. He delivered as promised and showed up on time. Great guy to deal with. highly recommended.

InactiveAs of last year Lionidakis no longer delivers up here. The lady I talked to said that it was no longer cost effective for them to deliver up here. You may pick up almond wood at their place in Escalon.

InactiveQuote:Anyone got a great source this year for seasoned oak firewood? I was disappointed in my cord last year that had too much rotten wood in it.other hard woods also considered. we need it delivered, no truck or hitch.
There's always Lionudakis almond wood in the valley. They deliver up here but I don't know what they are charging these days. Here's their website with contact phone numbers:

InactiveI'm wondering if anyone on this forum knows of a comprehensive plant identification guide – online preferably – where one could identify all the awesome plants which grow in our area. We have a lot of bare dirt in our yard and I see several ground over plants that I think would do very well and look pretty too – like this grape leaf looking ground shrub that spreads via underground vines.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

InactiveHere is the latest news….potential new owners (names undisclosed) are in due diligence phase. They were at BV last week and met with some of the locals….Word has it these folks have experience running ski resorts and are not real estate developers, per se.

InactiveDid Disney just raise their prices to pay for Bear Valley and all of the upgrades…..

InactiveSeems like good news that there is interest. It would be great if the deal went through early enough for solid planning and prep for the upcoming winter season and then be ready to start some heavy lifting next summer.

InactiveI heard a rumor that Disney was a player. Crazy to think of Disney owning a ski resort, let alone "our" ski resort. Is this the next Mickey-vacation after resorts and cruises? Disney skiing?
