What we’d like is a system that would email us a set of stills or short movie when the motion sensor picks up something. We don’t want to pay for cloud storage and don’t want equipment at the cabin storing images since that could simply be stolen.

Is there such a system to email us good quality images when triggered?

Nice to know a little background. Our snow schedule this year will probably include a fair number of Monday ski days so we can try the truck for dinner on the way to flats.

I agree, the other eats aren’t “Mexican” by any means — I wasn’t making taco/burrito comparisons, just suggested good quick-ish eats for the drive to/from. Sidewinders does rotate a good ale selection 🙂

We have a Q-See surveillance system. I can watch the place on my iPad from anywhere there’s wifi. I bought the system several years ago at Costco and finally got around to installing it earlier this year. The cameras are hardwired to the DVR. I think there are systems now that are totally wireless.

Really a great American story that taco truck.
He came up the hill to open a resturant, couldnt get a loan so he got a truck.
He is renting that spot to open his establishment in that bdlg eventually.

Coming from Texas and living in Az, I got to really miss good Mexican food. The other places mentioned in the post above cant hold a candle to our local taco truck.
Stop by and see for yourself.
    Really nice family as well.

Good to know! We’ve recently been doing the 9-10PM Thurs evening arrival so missing the open hours.

For to/from the flats eating when on better hours, we also like Sidewinders in AC and Firewood and El Jardin in Murphys with an occasional Giant Burger.

Anyone have other great eats you like?

We briefly poked about cameras and were not initially inspired. It seemed like the systems either required a landline and/or an onsite computer. Maybe when we next upgrade a computer in the fats we’ll move the old on up, or decide to pay the price for a landline. It would seem that since we have a wifi-enabled thermostat we can set remotely, there is technology for a camera to do the same? But maybe our camera search was too cursory?

Any suggestions for inexpensive camera set ups that can be viewed online from away?

It’s posted hours used to be 10-6 Mon-Sat, but I haven’t been there in a few months. Yep, as Allen says the burritos are good, and I think the tacos are great!

Nice photos. Those taken with a trail cam or a surveillance camera?

I’ve stopped there three or four times and my wife was with me once. We both agreed their burritos are good. Never tried anything else.

On the way up the hill just as you’re entering the suburbs of Arnold (I crack myself up!) there’s that seemingly permanent taco truck on the right side.

It’s rarely open at hours I’m going past, but I like a good taco or burrito… are they worth a stop if I catch them open? Or is it more along the lines of the sadly nicknamed roach-coaches?

    All,

Is it confirmed that Bear Valley will open this season?

I’m also curious about what went wrong with the sale of the property + lodge during this past summer. Were there too many hurdles put up by the existing owners to make it attractive for the suitors? Seems they would have been motivated to make it work quickly considering there was only one truly interested / serious buyer.

I hope this works out for the ski area + town of BV and also for those who enjoy skiing / snowshoeing / sledding / winter-sporting in this area.
