Thanks Vic.
We are moving my daughter into her house in BLS on Saturday so Sunday might be the better day if that works. We are close by so it should be pretty easy to work something out.
Stevecmon4dayParticipantHi Steve,
My son is supposed to go up this weekend. So that’ll be great. I’ll call you to confirm and set up a time.
ViccaleachParticipantIs the table still available? I will be up this weekend and can come over.
Steve
rweisParticipantHave a mix of oak, cedar and fir logs cut into ~3ft lengths. Much is positioned for easy pick-up, but much lay where they were felled half year ago. The wood is available if you can pick-up.

Robcheyenne26ParticipantJust a word of caution for whichever roofing company you select: If you want a manufacturer’s warranty for your new roof, the installer must be certified by the manufacturer for that product. In cold climates, there are specific guidelines that roofers must follow to be able to warrant the roof. This includes weather barriers that you might not be familiar with. Ask your proposed installer to show proof of certification for the products he intends to use.
I’m not trying to take away work from our local trades but roofing is important up here and although a roofer’s proposal may say he includes a 30 year warranty, it may not come from the manufacturer.
carlshomeParticipantGive Phil Murphy a call at (209) 770-1598.
RHYurocParticipantI am looking to get a new roof on my cabin in BTV.
Don Parr has retired. Left a message for Parris Scott Roofing. Are there any other recommendations?FlyfishrParticipantThere are no critters in the area that pose a threat to humans – other than the mosquitoes and yellow jackets. Even the few mountain lions in the area will give you a wide berth provided you give them the chance.
Keep your pets in a safe area, and secure your garbage. Then enjoy being in the company of the wildlife in the area.
The folks in the city face far more threatening (mostly two legged) critters.uttbParticipantIf you can’t hang with the animals, stay in the city
gagacabinParticipantI read the following information on another local site up here. It upset me and made me sad. If this information is not correct, please let us know.
“Please remember if you call animal control regarding any animal including bears and cubs and they are trapped they will be destroyed. Many people believe they will be relocated, but it is the law and they must be destroyed. When an animal is sick, injured or a danger, then, of course, you must call. If wild animals do not have food they will go back into the forest, keep your garbage locked up and your barbeque clean.”
Another person on that site responded with this.
“If you call animal control regarding wildlife they then call the County Trapper, they work together and once you make that call it is hard to reverse”
I have seen several bears and other animals in my area, I would hate for someone to report them.caleachParticipantI want to give another try to putting up a critter cam since I have seen so many great videos lately. Can I get some recommendations on models and features?
Thanks,
StevecaleachParticipantI just saw a post on Nextdoor that he’s at it again, and the roads are slippery to boot. I hope someone up there calls CHP so they can get this jerk off the road.
Snider Snow and StumpParticipantWe use Cutler Segerstrom out of Sonora and are very pleased.
Thanks,
JessicavnjParticipantI suggest contacting Steve Robinson at Heffernan Insurance at 800 234 6787 x 52541. He has been very helpful regarding our cabin. He will do what he calls “an in depth insurance review” at no charge. He says he works with a large network of carriers that offer coverage for different risk profiles including homes in hard to place areas. With all the spam problems I hate to post his email address, but if you want to private message me I can give it to you.
bayrunnerParticipantWe had a similar jump in rates in the last couple of years. I don’t know if you’ll be able to find a cheaper option than your new AAA quote, but you can try Dewaine (contact info below). He was very helpful to us this year:
