Thank you Shoshone for post that…
March 7, 2019 at 11:38 am in reply to: Not feeling the Love in many businesses up around Arnold #6405ShoshoneParticipantFlyer, your comments about Camp Connell have made me feel that a rebuttal is needed.
Our family has been coming to Big Trees Village for over 40 years. We have seen Camp Connell change over the times in so many ways. Over these years, Camp Connell has always been a welcoming place for myself and my family. It hasn’t mattered who owned it or who managed the location. My two children always enjoy going there for a visit.
My son, who has special needs, feels extremely comfortable hanging out there. During our vacations, visiting Camp Connell is one of the highlights of his day. Donna and her employees, Dan and his fantastic crew have always made a point of making sure that my family, and especially my son was greeted warmly and treated with respect. We consistently work on outside the house social skills with our son. He is so comfortable working on these skills at the store, that he seems like a typical person. The staff there have been extremely patient and accommodating to him and our family and have helped our son evolve as a person.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Mine is that Camp Connell is a warm and welcoming place for all. It is a great resource those of us that have a place or live above Arnold.
Flyer, you are entitled to your own opinion, from my experience and observations I don’t agree with your post.

Dan has done a great job – the “backyard” gatherings in the summer are special and get great attendance.
Good job Dan – you know we love you (Jack & Victoria)!
Snider Snow and StumpParticipantYes different rental Meadow Paws.

Our family sure appreciates you and what you have done with the store. I love your staff too. I can find everything I need at your store. Thank you for all you do for our community.

We have high ratings on Facebook, Yelp, and Google, so I’m not sure what you mean when you say we don’t care.
And your comment on the 3 day weekend, we were slammed, so don’t know what you mean about it being dead. We are a family friendly place, and that’s why we close early, we have no intention of being a Bar.
As for friendly, if you’ve been coming up here any length of time you should know I’ve received numerous compliments that our staff is extremely friendly. So if you were not greeted at the door, please send me an email and let me know about your experience. Of course, if I don’t hear from you I’ll realize your post is false, and I’ll call you on that.
There has been a lot of that , and I’m told this is because there were some locals who had hoped the place would go out of business and they could buy it for “dirt cheap” before I bought the place. yes hard to believe people could be so mean, huh? Yes, there are trolls with bad intent, what a surprise right?
I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
MeadowPawsParticipantI assume you are talking about the vac.rental on Hoopa. The one I’m talking about on hwy 4 by way isn’t in an HOA & the property management company is located in Cedar Center.
Snider Snow and StumpParticipantUnfortunately that rental is managed by an out of the area rental agency. The owner had requested that the manager tell renters no more than two cars. That is all there is space for. She did not tell them. She also does not know the HOA rules in BTV being from out of the area. So she probably assumed that the renters could park on the road? I think anyone who has a rental needs to go through a local company. We have had numerous weird encounters with the manager of this out of area company. Including telling homeowners we were given a list of one shots we were never given. Also calls for driveways in Arnold that we did not do..we do not service Arnold. When we send out contracts this year we will no longer do business with this rental agency. We have had a very professional business relationship with Cedar Creek. Their program is excellent!
MeadowPawsParticipantThe rental on the hwy 4 by way has full time renters which have been parking in the road for a very long time. They don’t seem to make a priority of plowing it and it can be a mess. It can be hard maneuvering your vehicle thru it and trying to miss all the illegally parked vehicles too.
whynotsnowParticipantNice to see they finally plowed Boards Crossing again. It was pretty messy all weekend!
SandiParticipantrochmprParticipantThis happened on Hoopa the other weekend. Large family and 5 vehicles. The large rental property barely has enough room for one vehicle in winter / snow conditions. They first started by parking in my two off street spaces before I had to call the property owner. From what I heard, it was because of them that Hoopa did not get plowed on President’s weekend. Gotta love irresponsible property managers / owners.
bigtreestechmanKeymasterThere’s a phone number in the attachment to report violations.
MeadowPawsParticipantI think they are at Carol Chuelos rental.
MeadowPawsParticipantThe by-way in Dorrington always has 3 to 4 vehicles parked in the road which makes it a 1 lane road and they haven’t done anything.
