    @ Allen — we’re not going to debate this with you. We’ve had rigs and RVs and more than understand what kind of a serious hazard this would cause at this location. Doesn’t matter if someone’s driving the speed limit or less. This is a really bad idea and a blatant disregard for the building/usage codes not to mention a horrible eyesore. If you think ugly industrial storage buildings are better looking that trees, brush and wildlife — that’s your choice. I challenge you to drive a 38′ Class A motorhome towing a small car to make an attempt to enter Hwy 4 going down the hill from the Forest Meadows entrance. Good luck with that. Thanksgiving Blessings to all.

    I don’t want it turned into a freeway either. By the way most RV storage is right off of the freeway in most areas check it out.

    Not sure what you are referring to about Forest Meadows. Your post isn’t very clear on that. Highway 4 is a two lane highway and we should all drive accordingly. I for one do not want to see it (Highway 4) made into a freeway. Everyone in BTV should have a vested interest in this development. If you own an RV or boat, you would have the option of storing it there. If you don’t own a boat or RV, then maybe some of your neighbors would store their boat or RV instead of keeping it at their cabins in BTV.

    I find it hard to believe this would cause a traffic problem or road hazard in the proposed area.

    That is exactly why there is a code. Otherwise we would have all kinds of different ideas since my way would different than yours and that other person would have there own ideas etc. etc.

    Was there any issues in mixing Pex or transitioning from the Galvanized piping?
    it looks like there are a few types of connections

    We have a Whirlpool 3.0 cu. ft. capacity washer and GE electric dryer that we’d like to donate, either to someone here that can use them or to a local charity that will pick them up at our place in BTV. They both work and I would guess that they are about 10 to 15 years old. We just wanted bigger capacity units and the new ones will be delivered on Dec. 16th. If we don’t find a new home for them then Lowes will haul them away. Anyone interested or have any info on a charity that will pick them up?
    Thanks, Becky

    Petition signed by us. We live here fulltime and are well aware of the Hwy 4 corridor and this location. This is a blatant misuse of zoning and this type of storage for RVs etc. Just a bad idea. Comments about not caring about those that live in Forest Meadows are disrespectful and I wonder if people that are for this idea own property or a business here. Excluding those that have a vested interest in the proposed development of course! Thanks Joe for the post.

    According to the Calaveras Enterprise, Bear Valley Mountain Ski will not open 11/30 and there is currently no projected opening date. The winterfest will still be held as planned. You can read the article HERE.

    I used PEX when I built and I’m quite happy with it. I went with a layout that has a central manifold with a shutoff ball valve for each appliance in the garage and a dedicated tube from there to each end point. That means no fittings in the walls to deal with or develop leaks. Of course PEX hasn’t had the leak issues that PB did years ago, but I still think its better to avoid fittings if you can.

    Pex will stretch quite a bit before bursting so that’s a big help as far a freeze damage.

    I drove by on my way back from Arnold. The license was applied for by Bonnie Lee Saville, the late Arden Saville’s wife. The license type is 47 so it will be same as before; restaurant, beer and wine.

    ==========================
    Type – 47: ON SALE GENERAL โ€“ EATING PLACE – (Restaurant) Authorizes the sale of beer, wine and distilled spirits for consumption on the licenses premises. Authorizes the sale of beer and wine for consumption off the licenses premises. Must operate and maintain the licensed premises as a bona fide eating place. Must maintain suitable kitchen facilities, and must make actual and substantial sales of meals for consumption on the premises. Minors are allowed on the premises.

    If I had it my way, both mini-storage and RV & boat storage would be changed to C1. They donโ€™t create enough traffic to warrant C2 zoning. Just my two cents, again.
