Wedding band found in early May on dirt road next to the Lube Room. Possibly lost this winter when removing a glove, or may have been lost several years ago. If an accurate description of the ring is provided, I would like to return to the owner. jjsurf22@yahoo.com or 408-829-7573. Thanks
sandyzoo45ParticipantLost Dog, small black male poodle mix over the memorial weekend. Lost behind cabin on El Camino Bootstrap. Wearing a white and blue dog sweater. Goes by the name of Beau. If found please call 925-757-8191, thank you.
cathywalkerParticipantA tree between Arnold and Dorrington took down the phone line and then someone cut it and tried to steal it. It has been fixed. If you are still having problems, contact AT&T.
caleachParticipantThere were a lot of AT&T trucks in the neighborhood this weekend. Are they doing any special to the service in our area?
FlyerParticipantI went to the meeting in Arnold Sunday evening. I have to say these folks have put in a lot of work and seem to be on track to being the coop that is the next owner. I am buying one of the shares, because after all the years I have been complaining about how Bear was deteriorating and was unable to do something well now I can help Bear get greater again. But I know we have all seen our cabin values decline a lot, well only about 1/4 of the folks that used to come up to Bear do anymore. I believe some is economy but a bigger part is Bear is just run down. People go elsewhere. This group understands this and since it’s a non profit Coop they want to put all profits back into the resort. I think that even if a homeowner up here in the Hwy 4 corridor does not ski, Bear Valley resort adds to our worth of our investments in our cabins and therefor it is worthwhile to go to their website and read how your onetime investment of $2,500.00 in a share will help us all.

JohnMParticipantSome local hikes with views: Rock Lake, the trail head starts near Elephant Rock Lake; Bull Run Lake, the trail head can be reached from the Stanislaus Meadow trail head; Heiser Lake, the trail head starts at Mosquito Lake, Highlands Lakes, various trails that are accessed from the Highland Lakes area.
WestlyeParticipantYesterday, we attempted to hike to the top of Woodchuck Basin but there’s still quite a bit of snow on the ground. At the wilderness sign we lost sight of the trail and any footprints and turned back. Good news is that the streams are flowing strong with snow melt and Alpine Lake is full to the brim.
MackFamilyParticipantWe are looking for a moderate hike that has nice views. We’ve done Inspiration Point, Woodchuck Basin, Duck Lake, and Stanislaus Meadow.
Any suggestions?

SandiParticipantPer Paul Petersen from Bear Valley Adventure Company: Noble Lake is a no go at this time. Mosquito Lake is still partly frozen and that is 700 feet lower.
sashaParticipantDoes anyone know if the trail from Ebbetts Pass to Noble Lake is passable now, since there was so little snow? And would the wildflowers be out this early?
Thanks.BootstrapParticipantLast weekend we raked all day, then burned from 7pm to 10pm. That took care of about 2/3 of the pile. The next day I loaded the remaining pile into my van and took it to Rowley’s. He carefully measured my load at just under 2 cubic yards and charged me $11.
I’ve decided that if you can’t burn during the day, while you are raking, it doesn’t make sense to stay up at night and sit there just to feed the fire (when you can only burn at night). Even if you have lots of “cold drinks”.
Next time, I will haul everything to Rowley’s and be done with it…
And anyone who burns, knows that the pile stays hot for 2 days afterwards, so you have to keep an eye on it…or soak it good….bigtreestechmanKeymasterThere will be a “soft opening” of the backyard at Camp Connell, Saturday, 5/24, starting for lunch and continuing for ???
Soft opening = Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Fries, Beverages. Live music will start mid June but good neighbors and good company starts NOW! -
