Spent the day at bear valley. Didn’t see any rain and it was still snowing when I headed back around 2:30. It seemed like the snow/rain line was around cabbage patch. The snow was really heavy, sierra cement but, they had the front side open. coverage is still thin, but heading in the right direction. Hopefully the weather forecasters are wrong all night so they get some good snow overnight.

They looked pretty tame but definitely on the hunt! Thanks for posting.

The storm headed our way is a Pineapple Express. Unfortunately, no snow for us. 🙁

Latest forecast is for a whole bunch of rain! NWS and KCRA are pretty consistent at the moment. We could get 4 inches of rain in Dorrington between now and Sunday morning and it’s supposed to keep raining into Monday. It’s looking like the snow level will rise above Bear Valley by Saturday evening.

Best short term forecasting I have seen is from KCRA. Go to the map on the radar page and click “future”. Then you can zoom in on the area you’re interested in and either click play or step through their hour by hour forecast.
Last time I looked Saturday and Sunday were rain-rain-rain.

I don’t know how often you “should” have a septic pumped, but our cabin was built in ’73 and we had it pumped when we bought it in ’94. We are now full time and never had it pumped since ’94. Been told we should never need it pumped if we don’t abuse it. Don’t know if that’s true or not.

Downey Cooper is our poop place, too. The guy, I’d have to look up his name, was great to talk to about septic health, root maintenance, what should/shouldn’t go down, etc. He took his time to answer all my newbie questions.

I used Downey Cooper in Arnold (209) 795-0955 for some septic repair a few years ago and highly recommend them. They exceeded my expectations and I’m a picky person.

Last November I used El Dorado Septic out of Sonora. They charged $485 which included finding the septic tank. I didn’t know where it was. They charged $85 an hour to locate the tank. If you know where your tank is the cost could be just $400.

I thought the guy did a good job. He even hosed down the walls of the tank to remove additional sediment.
