I just returned home (1/29/21) from the Dorrington area after riding out the storm. Many roads were impassible but can tell you that with chains and a 4 wheel drive vehicle we were able to make it from Kenshaw way to Wikami to Sierra Parkway to Board Crossing and then to Hwy 4 with little issue. Roads were one lane only and two way traffic is next to impossible. Saw many vehicles trying to make it up Boards Crossing without chains and they were stuck on the S-curve portion. Power was out since Thursday morning and no concrete date for restoration. Best to stay away until snow crews get a handle on the roads and better call someone to clear the driveway. The berms are at least 6-8 feet and no way to shovel in by hand. Shout out to Snider snow removal who were diligently clearing driveways each and every morning.

Hokan Circle was plowed around 10am today but still no driveway plow. Pge just sent a new update that power may be a few more days. Stayed warm by shoveling:)

Yes it’s annoying, and disrupts the quiet that we love. And it scares the heck out of our doggie.

The county has not plowed the roads in Big Trees Village and the power is out with no estimated restoration.
Plow companies are having a difficult time getting to driveways due to road conditions.

I’ve taken the smart route and not headed up to the mountains. I see the power is out, but maybe we have folks on BigTreesTech that have both a generator and a running satellite internet. If so, how’s it the Big Trees area? Hoping you’re all safe!

Yes, I have. I’m on Hokan, on the Highway 4 side of the circle. I can’t tell if the shooting is from the other side of the highway and just more prevalent since they’ve done more logging so the sound carries more, if the shooting is now lower on the hill, just off the fire road that runs parallel to the highway or a combo. I don’t think it’s on our side of the highway (i.e. just West of the ranger station). So, as annoying as it is (and to my dog’s displeasure), there is not much we can do (as long as it’s on USFS land).

Has anyone else noticed that there has been a lot of gunshot noise over the last year? It sounds very close. I checked with the homeowners association, and they said to just call the sheriff. Not very helpful.

Hi. FYI I got a message from google to change my bigtreestech password because it had been compromised.
