MtnMaxParticipantI absolutely agree that the zoning code is a mess. However it is what it is and yes we should visit updating and revising it. For now it is what we have and we have to work within it’s confines. Otherwise we will have a complete mess.
allenParticipantI have no idea why RV storage should be zoned A1 which is primarily for agriculture. Perhaps our zoning code needs to be changed. I’m afraid I don’t agree with your assessment of HWY issues. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.
I am editing this in an attempt to put this post in chronological order.
allenParticipantDeleted. These posts are not in chronological order and I was try to fix it. Didn’t work.

MtnMaxParticipantOh Good really miss the Lube Room. Many years of great times stopping in for a visit.
itsleahParticipantYay! Great news!
MtnMaxParticipantRV/Mini storage is allowed in C2 zoning. However the developer specifically specified that their would not be mini storage just boat/RV which changes its designation. The reason he did this is to avoid being required to address the HWY Traffic issues. I understand that you have an opinion but just because you don’t like an area doesn’t mean we should snub our at the zoning code. If he would like to put this here he should at the very least be required to rezone the property.

MtnMaxParticipantSimply because if they allow it there. Where will the next huge ugly building be built perhaps in your neighborhood. Look around I am sure that there is similar zoning near you. And quote from the county code A1 12C it lists RV storage as an approved use with no conditional use required.
KumaParticipantPlease keep us posted on this one, I would love to see the Lube room open again
allenParticipantThe main purpose of A1 zoning is General Agriculture. RV storage is a “conditional use” of A1.
The main purpose of C1 zoning is Local Commercial. Parking is a “permitted use” of C1.
Safari Mobile Home Park in Avery which also has outdoor RV storage is zoned U (unclassified).
The outdoor RV storage in Angels Camp (if it’s still there) is zoned RA (residential agriculture) and M1 (light industrial).
And MtnMax, you said:

Not to mention the Property values for the poor folks in forest meadows….

Why should I care what the property values are in Forest Meadows? I wouldn’t live down there if they gave me a place!Yes, T. Web, I agree. It appears someone has something personal going on here. This someone wants an RV storage facility zoned for agricultural use rather than local commercial use. Go figure….

FlyerParticipantLast weekend we saw a sign in the Lube Room window that said a new liquor license was being applied for. Anyone have any info on what might be happening
T. WebParticipantI think it’s great as long as they really put strong minds to gather and create well thought out landscaping. I for one am in need of a RV storage space. They have my vote!
T. WebParticipantPex piping is ideal for the extremes in temperature that we experience in he Arnold area. I am a building contractor and actually just completely re-piped a commercial building I own in Arnold with Pex pipe. I removed all the existing coper pipe as we have had had several occasions where the pipes have blown due to cold weather and the pipes were in insulated walls. Pex is definitely the way to go and is far cheaper and much faster to install than any other type of pipes for potable water.
MtnMaxParticipantLook I am not opposed to this property being developed. I just want it to be done appropriately. Throwing out the zoning code to suit the developers needs is not appropriate here or anywhere else for that matter.
