ParticipantWe’ve been considering planting some native trees on our property here, like sugar pine and giant sequoia and were wondering if anyone has experience with and/or recommendations for local sources or possibly mail order.

ParticipantI’m wondering if Rowleys is open for business this year to take site clean-up debris and if so, what days of the week and through what date are they open. I know they’ve been threatening to shut down operation the last few years. Any update would be appreciated.

ParticipantThanks Vic.
We are moving my daughter into her house in BLS on Saturday so Sunday might be the better day if that works. We are close by so it should be pretty easy to work something out.

ParticipantHi Steve,
My son is supposed to go up this weekend. So that’ll be great. I’ll call you to confirm and set up a time.

ParticipantIs the table still available? I will be up this weekend and can come over.

ParticipantHave a mix of oak, cedar and fir logs cut into ~3ft lengths. Much is positioned for easy pick-up, but much lay where they were felled half year ago. The wood is available if you can pick-up.
Please send me an email.

ParticipantJust a word of caution for whichever roofing company you select: If you want a manufacturer’s warranty for your new roof, the installer must be certified by the manufacturer for that product. In cold climates, there are specific guidelines that roofers must follow to be able to warrant the roof. This includes weather barriers that you might not be familiar with. Ask your proposed installer to show proof of certification for the products he intends to use.
I’m not trying to take away work from our local trades but roofing is important up here and although a roofer’s proposal may say he includes a 30 year warranty, it may not come from the manufacturer.

ParticipantI am looking to get a new roof on my cabin in BTV.
Don Parr has retired. Left a message for Parris Scott Roofing. Are there any other recommendations?Flyfishr
ParticipantThere are no critters in the area that pose a threat to humans – other than the mosquitoes and yellow jackets. Even the few mountain lions in the area will give you a wide berth provided you give them the chance.
Keep your pets in a safe area, and secure your garbage. Then enjoy being in the company of the wildlife in the area.
The folks in the city face far more threatening (mostly two legged) critters. -
