ParticipantI just received the same notice about two weeks ago. The insurance wants no trees 100’ from structure and 10’ clearance between branches of individual trees. Unless I cut down all the trees on my place plus both neighbors properties I can’t get it to work. They are also talking about the propane tank too close to the house. There is nowhere left to put it except underground. My agent is running up all his available flagpoles but no hits yet.

ParticipantWe just received a notice of non-renewal for fire insurance on our cabin.
Anyone have a recommendation on an agent/insurance company?
Thanks!

Keymastersemi good news. It would appear that the back yard camera just got reset to factory defaults by the series of power glitches rather than permanently damaged. However, I will need to re-establish all the settings in order to get it working on the site again. I may not get that done for a couple days because of other obligations.

KeymasterOK, I think I figured out the rain gauge problem. It looks like a pine needle had gotten into the rain collector and was diverting the water away from the measurement device. I need to figure out a way to keep pine needles from getting to the bottom of the collector.
Now, another, perhaps more serious problem has come to light. Yesterday we had a series of power outages which seem to have knocked out the back yard camera. We’ll see if I can get it working again.bigtreestechman
KeymasterIt actually has been raining over the last couple days. Unfortunately, it appears that the weather station rain gauge isn’t working properly. I will attempt to troubleshoot the problem when it clears up.

ParticipantWith a 30 mile range, I don’t see how they will work.
I don’t know of any TV towers in the foothills.

ParticipantHas anyone had any experience with either indoor or outdoor HD antennas such as the Fox HD TV Antenna?
there are several out there but wondering if they even work in BTV at all?
Thanks,

ParticipantI believe that was an opossum but it is not clear. The camera’s sensor turns on when something comes by and at night it is a bunch of infrared lights so it startles the animals at night.

ParticipantWow. That is amazing. Couple of questions. What was the animal after the mountain lion and before the skunk? Is that a pig? Also, does the camera make a noise while filming at night? The bears and the deer seem to know they are being watched. Thanks again!

ParticipantMattresses can only be disposed of at the Rock Creek facility – and that’s a long round trip! CalWaste has debris bins to rent. http://cal-waste.com/debris-boxes-2/
