Smoke is gradually getting better but depending on wind, etc, it still can get quite unpleasant.

I moved from ATT Cell to Verizon after the new tower went up. I moved my ATT landline number to my cell (at no cost) since no one had my old cell number. You can also move your old ATT landline to Comcast voip service at virtually no cost when bundled with wifi.

Just curious how the smoke is up there today?

mtndad makes a good point about checking cell service. Verizon put in a tower about 1000 feet from me on Hoopa Circle. I believe the tower is on Bigfoot Circle near the water tanks. Google earth shows it.

Depending where you live in Big Trees, you may or may not get cell service. So, before canceling ATT, I would check your signal.

Also,I believe that Comcast has only a four hour back up.

I cancelled my AT&T service because my cell phone works so well. I have Verizon as my carrier.

Any suggestions on an inexpensive land line phone service? We are paying $45 monthly for att. We use Wi-Fi calling and hardly get any calls on the land line. Want land line for when the Comcast service is out.

Up to 12,00 acres and only one percent contained. One Dardanelle Resort destroyed.

Fire near Twain Harte and Sonora consumed 6,000 acres so far. How much smoke is up near Dorrington?

Today a vast improvement over yesterday, at least here in Snowshoe Springs. Slight haze compared to dense smoke conditions yesterday AM.

Yikes! We have a little one that is not afraid of us. I was thinking that I need to shut my windows if we go anywhere during the day! Good thing it left! The other day I couldn’t get out of my car when I arrived home. It wouldn’t leave. We worry about our 3 year old who runs around the yard. I suppose having dogs helps. Glad you got it to leave!

Around 11:30 pm 8/3/18, really big bear just tore off my kitchen screen and was trying to climb in my kitchen window while I was on the couch with all of the lights on. I screamed long and loudly and banged on pots and pans to scare it away. Sorry if I scared anyone around Kenshaw.
