I have been going to the Snowshoe for as long as it has been in business. Besides my disappointment, if this post is true, I am “gobsmacked” that it has been several days that not a soul has posted any comment.
Come on folks, Flyfishr is right – I hope we don’t lose another mainstay business. Jeff and his staff have always done our family and friends good service and quality brews and food.
Had dinner there on Saturday night, and saw a ‘For Sale’ sign outside the building. I hope we are not going to be losing another local institution.
Too late! I had Barton Overhead Door come from Sonora, and they did a fine enough job, came when they said and installed it no problem.
The cool thing is this app they recommended:
“MyQ”. It opens/closes the garage door remotely from your phone. It also reports status, such as how long it has been open/closed. Now if I’m getting a delivery up there, I can remotely open it and have UPS put it in my garage, and close it after they leave. So awesome! Plus, how many times have I driven away and wondered if I left it open? Honestly, this makes the upgrade well worth it. Seems to work with almost any newish garage door so give it a try!Michelle,

He owns Eppler Garage Door company and has repaired or replaced several doors in Arnold. His company is in Livermore but we own a home in Dorrington and he is up there a lot so could probably help you out if you don’t have a local. . His contact is 925-577-4009.

BillWe need to make a change to our regular homeowner’s, car,etc. insurance, and are thinking of going with USAA (we usually bundle policies). They are willing to insure our cabin in Big Trees too. Has anyone had any experience with having their cabin insured by USAA? Thanks in advance!
Our garage opener died over this winter, too. I am not sure if we can just replace the motor, or if we need a whole new door. Anyone know who to call? Does Juston still do these up here?
Good morning, any recommendations for deck staining? Looking for someone that does good prep work (i.e. sanding). Previously hired Dye Painting and was very happy with quality and price but, he seems to have left the area.

Caught this on my security camera a few days ago. Image is so so quality, but I think it’s a pretty big mountain lion. Would like to know you agree. Hadn’t seen any posts before about these animals, so I thought you all would find it interesting. I’m toward the end of Sierra Parkway where it turns into Indian Rock.Mark
So, here are my current thoughts…
I would like to hear what you think.1) Add a Video Gallery page where new videos will be added and will be more accessible than by just putting one at a time on the front page.
1a) Maybe add a photo gallery page too???2) Change the main theme of the site to something that does not have the fixed width content section like the one I use now (the current theme is obsolete anyway).
3) Put Road Conditions, Forecast, Detailed Weather, and Snow Depth under a top “Local Info” menu item.
4) Revamp the way weather data, and graphs are displayed on the front page… Maybe take the graphs off the front page altogether… your thoughts?
5) Add social network functionality, like the ability for members to message one another, create groups, events, etc. This is a BIG change and I don’t know how smoothly it will go.
6) Either fix or eliminate the 2nd PTZ camera photos from the slides shown on the front page.
7) Get rid of the business directory.
This process may effect many things. The farthest reaching changes will come when I add the social network functionality. It may result in loss of forum data or the ability to search old forum posts. It could also result in members having to re-register. I just won’t know what all the effects might be until I make the change.
Without doubt, some of these changes will require down time so I probably won’t start until mid May, when the threat of significant weather is less likely.
