Hi Tortuga. Thanks for replying to my GS cookies question. I like Samoas better then Caramel DeLites! Where are you finding Samoas? I am in the flatland right now and the local council here (Stockton) sells the Caramel DeLites.
The two are certainly similar. The ingredient/calorie/carb/etc list is similar but different. Crazy people that we are I sent Caramel Delites to a daughter in WA and to one in PA so that they could do blind taste tests with their local Samoas. I’d love more Samoas! I’m on Shoshone against SPI land. We’ll get to Dton 930ish tonight and ski tomorrow until slushiness, then beer and burgers on the deck. Let me see if I can get the second box for you…Thanks tortuga. Will be in touch privately — assuming I can figure out how to do that!! 🙂
Samoas and Caramel DeLites though similar are different from one another. They are made by different companies and each local council decides which to sell. Several of the GS cookies have different names from different manufacturers. Personally I like Samoas better than Caramel DeLites, but have not been able to find Samoas. Our family is in the midst of doing blind taste tests on the two! How is that for a good excuse to eat more. LOL
Caramel Delites are the same as Somoas, regional naming.
I could get you one box of Somoas, maybe another, from a district charging $5/box.
Coming up from the flats later today and again next weekend.
Is the cookie sale over? We ate what we bought but I promised 2 boxes of Caramel DeLites to someone and I can’t find any. 🙁 Any Girl Scout out there with any cookies left?

Colletta painting. They painted my house last summer in Camp Connell. They did a great job and were very professional. Their price was reasonable, too.

Ditto on Kevin Dye. We met with several paining contractors, some never follow through with a bid, others were hard to reach – Kevin promptly submitted a bid, communication was an A+ and most importantly we were very happy with the work he performed (on time and budget). He’s local, a great dad and a nice guy too boot!
