A campfire permit is required and all the same rules regarding campfire safety apply everywhere, but warming fires are completely legal.

Folks it’s cooler tonight but please be considerate and don’t light outdoor campfires. The (new) neighbors had one roaring last night and I can smell another one tonight. Fire hazard is real. We’re in a no-burn zone at this time. Plus you need a burn permit to even run an outdoor grill here.

There are bears in Big Trees Village. They have been seen on Shoshone and evidence of their presence has been seen throughout the neighborhood.
Pleas do not leave any trash out, even in cans. Please inform renters and visitors that it is not safe to leave trash out or to leave any food items in vehicles.

Home Depot carries log splitters. I bought an electric one several years ago. It’s not as powerful as the gas ones, but it does a good job on pine, cedar and fir. Not so good on oak or other hardwoods. Mine is going to get a workout because PG&E just cut down a 23″ diameter fir on my place.

Tanette Yarnell at Century 21 in Arnold (795-4485) is excellent. Whether you are buying or selling, she knows the market and is honest and reliable. She has handled several transactions for our family and friends and we have always been impressed by her professionalism.

    Hi John
Costco sells log splitters, who knew? I got one for the same reason as you. I love it, it’s really powerful. Contact me emceemath sbcglobal net and we maybe we can work something out.

Does anyone have quality wood splitter that they would like to sell (or rent)? I’ve got a about six trees to split from last year.

We are also having a lot of trouble finding someone to do our lot clearing this year. I’ll give Alfredo a call. Thanks for the tip.

I tried calling about half dozen lot cleaners from the list that the HOA put on their site. The only one who responded was Alfredo Barboza at 209 213 9400. This was for a full lot cleanup, and he got my business.
If you already have raked, you might be better off just getting a disposal bin from Cal Waste 209 795 1532. $95 for a 3 yard bin, and you get it for 7 days before they haul it away.
