gpquinnParticipant
This is very random, and a little below Big Trees. Does anyone have any information about a marijuana eradication project that happened around the first week of August this past summer? They were flying various peace officers from a rope on a helicopter, and removed a big truck full of plants.
I was at my brother-in-law’s place, and watched this go on. He wants pictures to prove I’m not making it up.Thanks,
GaryCathieParticipantSo, remind me why it’s important to rush to burn in this dry climate. Doesn’t make sense to me. Can’t we wait until it snows or rain?
gagacabinParticipantWe are on the 3000 block of Shoshone. My husband and I both have iphones. He has AT&T service, or I should say no service in our area. It will quit right about Murphys.. I have Verizon, works great in the cabin and outside.
caleachParticipantIf you have AT&T service you can get a microcell from them and it hooks into your internet connection and creates a mini cell environment in your home. We’ve neeb using it successfully for a couple of years now.
It is limited to just in and around the house though.
rswheeler1ParticipantI have a Verizon LG Accolade which is a basic cell phone. I have relatively good coverage on Hoopa Circle.
ScottbigtreestechmanKeymasterWe are on Kenshaw and have no coverage.
allenParticipantI’m working on another project for about another month. Hope we get some more burn days in February. No time to burn right now. 🙁
allenParticipantVerizon coverage map:

Put in the ZIP code, zoom in and scroll around. Map is pretty accurate but the only sure way is to try a Verizon or Golden State phone. No 4 LTE up here and 3G is very slow for Internet. You’ll still need broadband wifi for the Internet even if phone service works at your location.
ndamicoParticipantVerizon or Golden State are your only options. a wilson booster can help improve the signal as well.
ebakerParticipantLast summer, for the first time since we’ve had cell phones, we had coverage at our BTV cabin! It was kinda spotty but usually good enough on the deck to make and receive calls. We also have Verizon, and in November I got my first smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy S3 (the S4 is newer and better). I’m anxious to see how it works up there. We had been able to use our Verizon dumb phones in Arnold and below for quite a while. I’m pretty sure AT&T does not have coverage in BTV, or even in Arnold.
ladyknitterParticipantWe do have cell phone coverage, we use Verizon. I’m pretty sure we are in the minority. It’s a matter of location. You would need to try it out at your home.
phillygirlParticipantHi,
I plan to trade in my old cell phone (ATT service) for a smart phone. Can you tell me if you have coverage in Big Trees and, if so, which provider you’re using?
Thanks.
Helene
uttbParticipantYou are still required to have a campfire permit for a warming fire according to the Ranger station below Avery.
chainsawcindy1ParticipantThanks. He took off about ten minutes ago…last seen on Osage. 795-3445
jebediah jakeParticipantwhat I did when we lost ruby was to tell Donna at Camp Connell Store. You might want to consider that. Also, you might want to post an email address or phone number for people to call you if they know who is missing the dog.
