I record the news and watch it later. Looks like TV came back on about 5:45. There’s at least two things we can count on up here. 1)PG&E will be down a few times every year and 2)Comcast will be down a few times every year. 🙂

We’re supposed to get the first snow of the season starting tonight. I’ll try to get both cameras on line today.

Don’t know what the cause is but one of the bigtreestech cameras got hit by it and was reset to factory defaults. That’s why have the snapshots are not getting updated now.

Anyone know what is going on with PG&E and their short power outages? Every time it happens I have to reset my modem, router, chromecast and last night I even had to reboot my surveillance DVR even though it’s on a UPS. The short outages confused the UPS.

Three things have been going on. First, AT&T did some kind of maintenance or upgrade at every telephone pole. If they couldn’t get to their box, they cut branches away and left them on the ground. Second, the county has been around clearing next to the roads and also cleaning the ditches with a grader and tractor so water can run between and through the culverts. Third, PG&E subcontractors are cutting down and trimming trees that need it. If the mess I’m referring to is still there Monday, I’m going to call the county and let them sort it out.

We were up last weekend and someone (ATT) cleared all shrubs and a few trees within 6-8 ft.of the road on the 2 lots we own. We have been intending to take care of it for years, and we were surprised and very happy that the clearing took place. All debris was removed, except the wood, which was cut into useable logs and stacked. No complaints here!

I think they left the mess because it is an empty lot. We have even contacted the fire dept. about the potential hazard with all of the dead wood. I wish the owner would at least clean the lot like I am required to do.

The good news is that it appears that the camera is healthy with one minor exception. It has completely lost it’s memory. So, to fix it, I just need to tell it who it is, where to look and who to listen to. The only problem is that I don’t have the time right now (or inclination?) to go back and figure out how I’d programmed it in the first place. Hopefully I’ll get to it before we have any significant weather come our way.

When we were up last (Labor Day weekend) we walked around Hokan Circle and commented about how nice the trimming and hill-side clearing had been done. I assumed it was the county (was surprised, though), but maybe it was PG&E. We didn’t see any piles. Was there additional cutting in the area since then?

Well, it looks like the intermittent power we had a couple days ago may have fried one of the cameras. Unfortunately, it’s the one that can get snapshots of the street / berm.

My son moved to Washington State and left behind for me to sell a set of studded snow tires for an Outback. They won’t fit my Forester. If you think you could live with studded tires for the season let me know by message and we can talk.
If you want to avoid studded tires, I recommend the Arnold Tire Company (behind the B of A) .. He has provided my family with tires, including snow tires, for several years.
Also, there is a tire seller in Reno that is all over the web and has a very good site, with ratings, on snow tires…
