Great snow! We live on Wikami Way…Snow fall in our area was 24 to 27 inches. Melting very slowly…still 21 inches deep on the deck.

Yes, the BEST. She’s helped us out several times over the years, no matter what. Her “can do” attitude is reassuring. Were’re very lucky to have her so close by and on call.

Power out and only 3 lifts at Bear Valley – Sat morning??

    Can anyone confirm???

    Website not updated since yesterday…

“Bear Valley Mountain has been experiencing a power outage due to a downed tree. PG&E is currently on-site and will restore power to the mountain as quickly as possible. Bear Valley will continue to run on auxiliary power until power has been fully restored. “

Just wanted to send a big thanks to Sandi at Sierra Sentry for their service and give them a “plug”.
Left our place on Jan. 3rd and my wife woke up at 2AM with the realization that she had left the door under the house open and the light on!
I got on the Sierra Sentry website (https://sierrasentry.com/) in the morning and Sandi confirmed that the door was left ajar and the light on.
She turned off the light and locked the door (with photos to boot!)
Saved me a tank of gas and over half a day.

    Thanks Sierra Sentry

    Hello,
We have quite a bit of snow in BTV. I just drove in there and it does look like the county is catching up on the roads now. If you haven’t arranged snow removal you will need to do that. It just stopped snowing.

Glad it is just hardware and not you or your house that was damaged.

The small computer that is used for the picture and weather live updates suffered a failure during the power outage on 1/10. I hav been unable to reset the device but am hoping to have it repaired by 1/20.
In the mean time please feel free to use the forum to ask locals for updates on weather conditions.
    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    Joe

On our street, Kohota Lane., the snow is over 12″ and we haven’t seen a plow for two days. Deep ruts and slippery

Called county snow removal, no results.

Haven’t even tried to the to the post office.

Just wondering— what is the current snow conditions in Big Trees? The video cameras haven’t been up dated for two days.
Love the site for keeping us updated on the conditions, our place is near the Big Trees Drive entrance.

Weather permitting, we may also watch the torch light parade down the mountain and fireworks after. Good times

Has anything in particular happened to the website since it hasn’t been updated since the morning of the 10th? I hope nothing serious.

Yes, we are very happy with our gutters, which are two years old now. They work exactly as advertised! I looked at our bid and it came out to about $25 per linear foot (gutter plus downspouts combined.)

    Good luck!
