    Dan,
I think the changes you have made over there have been great. Your staff is excellent. There is a positive atmosphere that wasn’t there before. The pizza we keep telling people is the best on the mountain. You have a good thing going over there. We think you are doing a great job. It’s hard owning your own business but you have done a great job..seriously. So if people read this…go get a pizza over there! You can call it in and take it to go too!

in case you haven’t seen it check out the new Detailed Weather Info menu item.
FWIW, any “internal” readings are off the mark because the monitor is inside a cabinet with some other electronic gadgetry so the readings will be off. One of these day’s I’ll get rid of all the internal readings from the page.

here on Kenshaw we had a couple very brief outages on 9/ 21, both less than a minute long during the thunderstorm.

What was really cool about it was that I had just finished configuring the new BigTreesTech information server to send me an email whenever the power goes out and it worked perfectly!

I’m going to see if there’s a way to post changes in power status to the forum or somewhere on the site.

I want to thank Joe for keeping me centered, and reminding me how it important it is to do the right thing (as the song says “sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same”). I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a rough year personally, and my plans have changed numerous times regarding my relocating up here on a permanent basis.

I do want to thank all the great people up here in Camp Connell and Dorington for saying and doing the right thing, your direction and encouragement has been so very appreciated.

We had a fun year in the backyard – Beer Garden, with some great music, and I hope some of you were able to enjoy it. I do want to say thanks for coming in. if you haven’t checked out some of the improvements we made, I hope you will. If you have some id showing the 95223 (DL, Mail) you can get in for free for the last 2 shows of this season (9/23 and 9/30), I hope to see you there.

We got a call from PG&E around 3PM saying power was out to 400+ houses in Dton. Our wifi was active again not too long after. PG&E outage map currently shows two homes without power, near Meko&Shoshone.

Looks like both of my cameras have been off since early this afternoon. Wondering if the electricity is out in the 3000 block of Shoshone? Or maybe Comcast?
Looks like you had a nice hail storm today too.
    Thanks for any info.

I’ll second that recommendation. Jodie also serviced my chipper.

It’s been way too long since I sanded and re-sealed my redwood deck. Going to try and tackle that job next week before the rains starts in earnest. What product are people using that holds up well? Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I have gotten firewood from them in the past. Almond was great for the fireplace. Although they still list “Firewood” on their web site, I spoke to them a few days ago and they are not delivering firewood– at least right now.
    Thanks again,
    Gary

In my experience, oak is harder to find up on the mountain. But you can get almond/walnut hardwood from Lionudakis down in the valley. At least they used to deliver up to Big Trees: http://www.lionudakis.com/

Does anyone have a good recent recommendation for Firewood? I am looking for seasoned Oak. I see a lot of signs for firewood, but most are not Oak.
    Thanks

I have an Airens snowblower that is fairly new, but I would like to have it serviced before the snow comes this year. Does Jodie do service on snowblowers and would you recommend him to do so? Having someone come to my house to do it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Gary

Over the last 10 years, Val Garringer (209-728-0158) has painted our cabin twice. His crews also seal redwood decking and railings. Very professional, high quality work.
