ParticipantThe Big Trees Village Property Owners Association is starting a Neighborhood Watch program for our area. The next meeting is on Friday, December 27th at 4pm (before it gets too dark!) at the Association Office at the Rec Center. Hope to see you there!

ParticipantHelene,
You will really like the S4! I got an S3 2.5 months ago; first smartphone. Use it all the time (too much)! Took a 28 day trip to Europe in Oct-Nov, and it was our camera. It can get addicting, as you see wherever you go! Have fun!-

ParticipantThanks to everyone for your responses! I purchased a Galaxy S4 today with Verizon as the service provider. My first smart phone. The young men who worked at Radio Shack were enthralled when I pulled out my old “not so smart” phone with a slide out keyboard. I figure the phone is almost as old as they are.
Now it’s on to figure out how this thing works…

ParticipantMy cousin from Concord arrived at our cabin today, and called me with her Verizon cell phone as they were looking for the main water valve. Great connection until they got all the way under the house. Fine outside under the deck. We’re on Walapar, just off Ottawa.

ParticipantThis is very random, and a little below Big Trees. Does anyone have any information about a marijuana eradication project that happened around the first week of August this past summer? They were flying various peace officers from a rope on a helicopter, and removed a big truck full of plants.
I was at my brother-in-law’s place, and watched this go on. He wants pictures to prove I’m not making it up.Thanks,

ParticipantSo, remind me why it’s important to rush to burn in this dry climate. Doesn’t make sense to me. Can’t we wait until it snows or rain?

ParticipantWe are on the 3000 block of Shoshone. My husband and I both have iphones. He has AT&T service, or I should say no service in our area. It will quit right about Murphys.. I have Verizon, works great in the cabin and outside.

ParticipantIf you have AT&T service you can get a microcell from them and it hooks into your internet connection and creates a mini cell environment in your home. We’ve neeb using it successfully for a couple of years now.
It is limited to just in and around the house though.

ParticipantI have a Verizon LG Accolade which is a basic cell phone. I have relatively good coverage on Hoopa Circle.

ParticipantI’m working on another project for about another month. Hope we get some more burn days in February. No time to burn right now. 🙁

ParticipantVerizon coverage map:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/support/coverage-locator
Put in the ZIP code, zoom in and scroll around. Map is pretty accurate but the only sure way is to try a Verizon or Golden State phone. No 4 LTE up here and 3G is very slow for Internet. You’ll still need broadband wifi for the Internet even if phone service works at your location.
ndamico
ParticipantVerizon or Golden State are your only options. a wilson booster can help improve the signal as well.
