I have Michelin LTS M/S on my Ford F150. The tires have 70,000 miles on them and still have lots of tread. They cost $200 each, but well worth it.
Hoopa ScottRebeccaMParticipantWe have used the Bridgestone Blizzak on our Volvo. They have worked wonderfully, and get us out of our steep driveway, and up to Bear Valley without chains. We leave them on for the winter season, even as we commute back and forth from the Bay Area. Seem to not have much of a difference on gas mileage. Then, we go back to the Bridgestone Ecopia in the Spring. You will need somewhere to store them, but the tires last much longer.
uttbParticipantWe have used Toyo A/T Big Country for years and have been extremely pleased with their performance in the snow and on the Hwy.
bigtreestechmanKeymasterLots of locally hand made gifts and such. Stop by and say high to Dana and all her sisters!
gjensenParticipantThanks
bigtreestechmanKeymasterI don’t believe there is a private message function enabled. Perhaps something for the future.
gjensenParticipantJoe how do you pm someone on a topic? Thx Greg
allenParticipantSorry to hear about the theft. Those older small outboards are worth more than you might think because all new ones are 4 stroke engines and heavier than the older ones. Keep an eye on Craiglist.
I can’t wait for one of these thugs to show up here so I can get them on surveillance cameras!
ndamicoParticipantdoes anyone know of a good deal on a small amount of soft wood? i need another 1/2 cord and can pick it up.
thanks
caleachParticipantThis one worked on my iPad as well.
Great work!
StevepedalhogParticipantWe arrived last Friday evening to discover someone had stolen the outboard motor off our fishing boat. In addition they had attempted to steal the small chainsaw bear attached to our front porch, breaking the railings it is attached to in the process. We have narrowed the time frame down to between Sunday Oct 6th and Wednesday Oct 9th when the cabin was empty. The outboard motor was very (and I mean very!) old and in fairness unsecured and as such cannot be worth very much. None-the-less were disappointed that someone would do this and will need to be more vigilant in the future. Thought we would share as an FYI.
gwwParticipantI’ve found the tire rack to have useful
tire selection information in the past.

tortugaParticipantOn that note, my local public library card gets me free online access to Consumer Reports (as well as many other magazines). check there before shelling out more money, let your taxes work 🙂
MikeParticipantCheck out page 51 of the November 2013 Consumers Report Magazine, they tested 8 ‘high performance’ snow tires. These are high end tires but you might be interested in the article.
