These are the markings of PG&E.
everikParticipantHi All,
While walking around our neighborhood (Hokan Circle) I noticed a lot of trees marked with a number and then an ‘X” or two or three. Then I noticed that they were all on dead pines. The marks looks to be from the same person. Was there a recent survey of our area by the USFS or PG&E.
I also had just noticed that one our few pine trees is looking like it’s turning brown, but it was not marked. Maybe it just started to turn as I hear the bark beetle disease is quick acting.
Is there an upcoming planned logging for all these marked trees (I’ve been reading up about PGE’s Debris Management Program).
Thanks!
jsschmitzParticipantAre you still happy with the Byers Leaf Guard gutters? I found that they are very aggressive in their selling. They won’t give a quote unless you are present at the location. How hard can it be to do an external measurement and give a quote without my presence? But maybe these are worth it?
I’ve heard the general price range is $20 to $30 per linear foot. Is that about what you hear for Byers?
thanks
hoagyParticipantWe upgraded our electric clothes dryer this week. The old one will work fine with a new door switch part that we already have on-hand. Call us if you’d like a free electric clothes dryer. 795 2143
caleachParticipantWe are down towards the end of Karock at the West end of BTV, so perhaps no common thread.
carlshomeParticipantCaleach,
Where are you roughly located? Curious if we are reasonably close to think we have a common mischief maker?
caleachParticipantI must have hard a similar story in the last year because I ended up putting a lock on our main box as well. Now I think I will get a lock for the hot tub panel too.
Really sad that it’s coming to this.
carlshomeParticipantSeveral months ago I arrived at my cabin to find the electrical panel door open and the main breaker tripped. Sadly I lost everything in the fridge and freezer. So I added a padlock. Yesterday my son arrived at my cabin to find the hot tub sub-panel wide open and the heat circuit tripped. Tub water was very cold but not yet frozen. A pad lock will be on it tomorrow.
Has anyone else experienced, or heard about, this type of mischief?
My cabin is located near the very end of Sierra Parkway where it intersects with the end of Indian Rock Road.
gagacabinParticipantMattress has found a new home…
lawverParticipantWe were there in 1978 when the mammoth caldera was rumbling with 5+ quakes and they shook like heck. I am sure it was eventful last night especially minutes later with the second one.
caleachParticipantThis was definitely the biggest one I have felt since Loma Prieta in 89.
gagacabinParticipantThis mattress is old, but was only used in a spare bedroom for guests.

michelle sParticipantDespite living on the Hayward fault for over 20 years, last night was the biggest seismic event I have ever felt! At first in my sleepy state, I thought it was some kind of tree avalanche on the roof, but those don’t usually happen at night. Icicles outside the window fell and shattered. It wasn’t until the second one hit that I realized — oh, earthquake. Just not a possibility I run through my mind while here. But it is now. By the third (softer) one I was less concerned and falling back to sleep.
caleachParticipantanother one just a few minutes ago, seemingly as strong as the first one.
caleachParticipantYup, here n BTV, Very surprised. Two pretty close to together with some additional rumbling.First time for me up here in our 14 years here.
