ParticipantI have insurance through safeco. Reasonable coverage at a reasonable price. Insured with them for two years now.

ParticipantChipmunk – what does Teri, a realtor, have to do with home owner insurance?
We have insurance via our CSAA insurance agent for four years from purchase. I don’t see how insurance companies pulling out of the region now due to risk load has anything to do with Teri, a realtor.

Participant@ Tortuga, sounds like Teri Rogers made her money then threw you under the bus.

ParticipantA week later, we have one quote at $2K (Travelers). Another $2K quote (Evanston) excludes personal liability.
Prior coverage was at ~$1200.

ParticipantFYI – we use MagicJack also for our landline. Ported local number to it, plugged it into the house jack and all the phones in the house act like they did before on AT&T. Comcast has been good about keeping Internet up even in power outages so with a UPS on the router and MagicJack, VOIP phone service has been very reliable for us.

ParticipantThank you Michelle S for giving me that info. After hearing yours was okay, I called Verizon and they fixed the problem.
We use Magic Jack for our land line, only $35 a year. What a deal. Down side is if internet is off so is the phone.michelle s
ParticipantVerizon has been working great today on Chumash circle. Two bars was enough for a couple hours talking with no cut-off. Good thing, too — I had to use my cell for teleconferences because our house phone is Ooma (VoIP) and that was down, even though our internet was fine. Yep, it’s always something.

ParticipantHI, I have had good Verizon service (with at least 3 bars) on the 3000 block of Shoshone for a couple years. As of yesterday, no service. Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem?

KeymasterEl Dorado is now the only bank in town. Fortunately, it has always been the best bank in town (IMHO)
