ParticipantI’m following this post. PG&E left a huge mess for me to deal with. I’m thankful the fire inspection folks have allowed that there are just too many trees down to fine us for non-compliance.
I’ve got to be honest here. I want very much to be in compliance. But when your regular clean up team jacks their cost up 200%? And the wood removal guys equally encourage to do so as well?
Local guys. Work with us I’m discouraged. This is your community too.

ParticipantI have the remains of a large white fir that PG & E contractor took down last year.
Have offered it under free wood several times.
Now I am looking for a contractor who would be able to pick it up and haul it away.
Any suggestions?

ParticipantElaine Monges @ Barry Ward. She did a great job with my wife & I when we were looking to buy up here. She helped us to realize exactly what we were looking for and had some helpful hints about things we never considered (one nice house was at the end of a cul de sac and looked like a great buy…..Elaine knew that’s where they dumped all the snow when plowing).

ParticipantI’ve been in Big Trees for 17 years about half time. For several years there was a rather large and aggressive dog loose in the streets. But he is gone now. Then last year another large very aggressive dog appeared in the neighborhood who would run up 100+ yards onto my property aggressively charging and barking at me and my family. It was quite frightening. But I haven’t seen him in a couple of months. The point is the same as the previous post. Please people, don’t let your dogs run loose. Take responsibility.

ParticipantI witnessed a woman walker attacked by dogs this morning on Chumash. She continued her walk so I assume she was not too badly hurt. The owner appeared to take away the dogs but seemed blase about the incident.
Whether your dogs are 10 pounds or 100, if you haven’t bothered to train them, please do not let them loose. I’ll be keeping my children close to my home. Ridiculous! Cheaper to take training classes then pay emergency people and vet bills!
These attacking dogs were small 10 pounders (?), two black and one white. One of the black ones seemed to be the main aggressor. 2900 block of Chumash circle.

ParticipantMoving from our BT cabin to another in Big Trees. The “new” one has a very pink tan or maybe it is very tan pink bathtub and surround. In a former home a previous owner had a tub professionally refinished in white and it looked great and survived well. Has anyone up here had that done, and if so who did you use and were you happy with the result? Thank you.
