Yes, Snowshoe Springs is not for the faint of heart. Only the tough survive up here in the cold Winters and Wild, Wild, West of Summers!

That reminds me…Robert Conrad used to hang out at Bear Valley ski area…not as tall as he looked on TV…nice, friendly guy. Wonder if he is still around?

I am wondering if anyone attended the recent BTV Homeowners meeting and can up-date the SPI neighborhood fuel break construction schedule.

Lost white German Sheppard, possible mix has been hanging around since I arrived this morning. Lower end of Venado, (Meadowmont), on the turn headed down to Fawn circle and The Lakemont area. Appears to have collar and tags. If it is here in the am, I will approach and try to get info. If you have info on this dog, call me at 6041111.

If we are going to get all “politically correct”, seriously, shouldn’t it be African American Bart?

thanks for all the good advice.

Where in the Arnold area would I rent scaffolding? Maybe Arnold Rental would have it?

My husband replace a ceiling fan in our cabin at 23 feet. He used scaffolding. Didn’t take long to set up the scaffolding either, was an easy fix after that.
    I didn’t scream once!!

I have the same kind of problem but I just have to replace the bulb. The first time I did it I used an extension ladder but will not try that again on a cathedral ceiling. The bottom of the fan is about 13 feet from the floor so I think I will rent a tall step ladder.

I don’t understand what could possibly motivate anyone to commit such an act against our association.

Is this an opportunity to have discussions about installing security cameras? Yes the horse is out of the barn, but at least to help protect us in the future.

My ceiling was about 20 feet. I used a 24 foot extension ladder which just touched the main beam with about 3 inches to spare. It was shaky, but I could let go of the ladder to install the ceiling fan. I assembled the fan on the floor, tied a rope to it and hauled it up when I got to the top of the ladder. I’d hire someone before I’d do it again. Too old for that stuff!

From Big Trees Property Owners Ass’n.
Late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning on June 18-19 a person, or persons unknown, vandalized the Big Trees Village Property Owner’s office building and grounds.

It is apparent, by what was written, that the issue was about our VIP program, Volunteers in Prevention, as the initials VIP were spray painted all over the walls and windows of the buildings, all the picnic tables, the BBQ area, trees, our signs and the pavement. Locks were glued shut and new volleyball and badminton nets were cut.

It is unfortunate that the person(s) involved felt it better to vandalize the property rather than call the office with a complaint. The sheriff has been notified, as has Cal Fire, who partners with us in the VIP program.

We would like to offer a reward for information leading to an arrest, but have not collected funds at this time. We are still working with the insurance company to determine the financial extent of the damage.

We ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Sheriff’s office, 209-754-6500 or the anonymous tip line 209-754-6030.

    Thank You

I’ve got a ceiling fan on a high vaulted ceiling that I need to work on (add a remote control). My issue is how to get up there and work on it safely. It’s about 20 feet up. I can get there on an extension ladder, but that seems precarious as I will need 2 hands free to work on the fan as it is fairly heavy. If I were just replacing the bulbs this seems fine, but to access the whole fan seems challenging.

Any suggestions? Is there a better ladder to use for this height? Scaffolding seems overkill, but maybe it’s not too hard?

Some of you must have vaulted ceilings with a challenging height. How did you work on something up high?

    thanks
