Big Trees Park is nice because it also has picnic tables and is an easy walk from where your car is parked.

How about Calveras Big Trees State Park?
Numerous points of access to the Stanislaus River, some are ADA trails.
Young children? Good swimming at Beaver Creek.

    Good luck

I took the family to Beaver Creek from the access just past the Sourgrass bridge yesterday. It was just beautiful. Was just wondering if there are more access points to the Stanislaus River with only minor hiking involved that would be good to take visitors to.

I’d also like to hear about any access points for fishing that require a fair amount of hiking to access. Not sure if the local fisherman would give up their secrets but I’m hoping to get some ideas.

Thanks in advance to anyone chiming in here!

Can anyone recommend a landscaper or nursery that specializes in native plants? I’d like to plant a screen between my cabin and the adjoining property. The previous owners planted a row of cedars 10 years ago, but they have barely grown in that time – not sure why. I’m looking for someone with good knowledge on the best plants to use for this purpose.

I’ve had similar scratchings on trees on my property. I showed them to a local naturalist and he said it was most likely a mountain lion sharpening his claws. Think of your cat doing something similar to your couch. Just bigger.

A number of the higher campgrounds are still closed due to snow including Lake Alpine and Mosquito Lakes. In addition, a number of others are closed due to a large number of dead trees creating fire hazards and falling limb and tree hazards.
thepinetree.net has a list of current closures, as well as phone numbers to call for additional information.

Does anyone have any info about the snow in the camp sites at Alpine or Mosquito?
Headed up that way around middle of June.
    Thanks

Sorry, private messages are no longer supported because they never worked in the first place with this platform. If you would like to establish contact with another user you can send me an email directly that includes their username and the message that you would like to convey (perhaps just that you would like to get in touch with them).
    Sorry for the inconvenience,

    Hi Joe,
I want to send my phone number to the person who volunteered to help me move my desk, but I don’t want to publish the number to the world. I am not certain how to be sure the message is private. An option would be if I could send the phone number to you privately and you could please pass it on to 1buddy since you probably have that ability. What should I do? Many thanks.

I don’t know the street names, but it’s the road across HWY 4 from Camp Connell store. Follow the signs to the dump site.
