ParticipantVery interesting, We also use “C” company and have for many years.
I note that on your bill he was there for 43 minutes. I can’t find where the length of time he was at our location is on the bill, I can see what time he started.
Where do i look on the bill for the information?

ParticipantJust want to give P/T homeowners who are not up all the time and happen to use “C” Pest Control up here you might not be getting what you pay for.
My family has used this Co. for 20+ years and before the winter I had a security video system installed, make a long story short their times that they state on the bill are way off.
Just to give you the most recent example from the bill, time in and out stated he was there for 43 minutes, and said he webbed the garage and outside of house and sprayed, he was out of his truck and back in for a total of 1 minute 46 seconds!!
I just wonder how many other times this has happened over 20 years.
We will be changing Pest Control ASAP!any other Pest Control Co. recommendations?

ParticipantYesterday I checked my AT&T bills for BTV and home. No problems.

ParticipantThe only time I have experienced hearing another’s conversation was back in the day of “Party Lines”, and that’s been a long time. Sounds like just a screw up on the part of AT&T.

ParticipantMy last two AT&T bills have included a number of calls which we did not make. (eight on the last bill for dates we were not at the cabin and it was locked up) The charges were minimal and AT&T reversed them. They think there may be a crossed line and asked if we had heard other conversations on the line. We had not. We use this line as backup for emergencies only, usually using our cell phone and an AT& T microcell. However that is reliant on Comcast. Hence the backup plan. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

ParticipantI wanted to close the loop on this post. Thanks to others for sharing your experiences. Mine was similar. Tech came out this morning and said a filter had been applied which was what was causing the outage. He fixed it, plus cleaned up the mess of wires and splitters going into the house. He even added a signal amplifier. All at no charge. It’s annoying that Comcast caused this problem in the first place, but the tech (Dave – Arnold local) was very helpful and thorough and fixed everything in about an hour.

ParticipantI live on Hoopa and my Cable/Internet has been out since Feb 26. I had a note on my door about a signal disruption. I just got it fixed by Comcast this last week. They claimed I had loose cables inside my house. My house is empty and it has been since Christmas. No one has touched the cables since I hooked it up 2 years ago. It is a nightmare dealing with Comcast.

ParticipantI got up there Friday PM, and found a note on my door from Xfinity aka Comcast. My internet was done. A tech came on Saturday morning and fixed the problem that was caused by some type of filter (he said) on the power pole. It took him about 20 minutes to fix it. I’m on Hoopa Circle.

ParticipantFollow up to my original post: Craig was just outside and noticed the cable box has been accessed. Is anyone aware of Comcast working on cables/service in the area? Thank you!

ParticipantI am writing this on behalf of my husband who arrived at our cabin on Wikami yesterday to find that the internet is down (TV/Cable are working so we are getting some signal). He called Comcast who did some trouble shooting and suspects we have a failed modem. He questions this because the modem is less than 6 months old. Also, he is unable to connect to the local Xfinity wi-fi hotspot which seems to be a strange coincidence.
Has anyone else experienced similar or other internet issues recently?
If you are in the area and have connection through Comcast/Xfinity we would appreciate a quick reply so that we know it is working for some.

ParticipantAs a former long time casualty insurance agent, there are differences between owner occupied, full time rental, and vacation rental exposures.
Owner occupied = Homeowner’s policy
Full time Rental = Rental Dwelling Policy. Check to be sure you have enough coverage on Personal Property if you rent it furnished. these policies normally come with reduced Personal Property coverage because most full time rentals are rented unfurnished.Vacation Rentals Many companies won’t touch this at all. For others, it depends on how many days per year you plan on renting it out. Some just leave the Homeowners in place if it is less than 30 days per year. Others go to a Rental Dwelling policy but charge a higher than normal Rental Dwelling premium because this is considered a much higher risk exposure by these insurance companies.
This why you need an insurance agent who knows their stuff. And there are many that don’t. Buying on line with no personal relationship with your own agent is very risky here. There is no one that you can hold accountable for placing the wrong policy on the property and, after the fire, end up with no coverage because it was caused by an increased exposure to a Business Risk that was not revealed to the insurance company.
