10 to 20% sounds about right. My neighbors are full time residents, and it’s nice to have them looking out for my place. I gave them a key to my place and they’ll turn on the heaters for me in the winter. Sure helps!

I would guess between 10 and 20%. Permanent residency has seemed to have increased over the last few years. I suspect that’s due, in part, to the mild winters we’ve had recently. I suspect that if “normal” weather resumes there are going to be a few people moving back down the hill a bit.

Wanted to somehow bring this back up to the front of the line as we get closer to snow season.

    Make me an offer😊

Does anyone have an idea about how many of the homes in BTV are permanent residents?

We dumped our data plan in favor of regular old flip phones. Now we can make calls in several areas that we couldn’t make with our iPhones and a data plan.

I emailed two neighbors about this, and it turns out that one neighbor’s son accidentally called 911 when he turned his phone off.

We upgraded our kitchen & mudroom counters and enjoyed a 5-star experience which is quite the rarity these days. Jeff Yates of Pinnell’s Angels Camp went out of his way to assure our granite counter project was correctly completed. The process, communication and customer service were far above other home improvement or big box store experiences. Cost were less than the Sonora granite fabricator and tear-out to install was a one week turnaround. There’s 3 Jeffs at Pinnell so remember Yates as the last name if you are in need of any type of counter (laminate to unique stone).

There was someone walking between my cabin and the neighbors’ cabin tonight; not the neighbor. Also on Karock, just off Sioux Trail.

Mystery sort of solved. My rental manager went up to take a look to make sure everything was OK, and there was a note wedged in the door from the Sheriff’s office saying that they had responded to a 911 call, checked it out, and everything was secure.

I called the Sheriff’s office, and they said they received a 911 call, so went to check it out. I asked them which number the call came from (because the cabin is empty) and they said 925 area code, but would not tell me the number. We live in the 650 area code. They seemed to imply that it was from a 925 cell phone, made in my general area. I don’t know if they checked all the cabins in the general vicinity, and also didn’t think that they could tell where a cell phone made a 911 call from.

Anyway, no harm done, good to know my camera works and that the sheriff’s office responds. Hope all neighbors are OK.
