I agree with everyone. Sad day. I check the site every day. Joe, thanks for all you’ve done.
ScottAZbunchParticipantDang, I hated to see this! Joe, thanks so much for all the hard work that you put into the website…yes, I definitely noticed the lack of new content the past several months, and that’s a shame. Like pcoberly, I’m wondering where we can continue finding helpful info as a part-timer? Enjoy your new-found freedom!!
carlshomeParticipantI’m sad too. The camera shots were my go to for what’s happening with the weather in Big Trees. Especially in winter. Sad to see this go. But life is full of change. But this change hurts. Thanks for your years of commitment to this website.
pcoberlyParticipantI too am sad to see the station and cameras go away as they have been eyes to the big trees world for us. Thank you, Joe, for a wonderful service to your neighbors.
Given the decreased popularity of the site, I’m curious where people are going for the types of information available on Big Trees Tech? Nextdoor, Facebook? (gack)

AnnetteParticipantSo sorry to lose the weather station and cameras. I will miss them. You have provided a great service to those of us that are “weekenders”. Thank you for all the years that I could check on snow!! I will continue to check in and hope the road videos continue. Again thank you so much.
cabinParticipantI just noticed this post so it is a little out of date.
The SSS board of directors has been a mess since the president took office. He has exceeded his authority and was doing many inappropriate things in direct violation of the Davis Stirling rules HOAs are bound by. He has been removed, officially he resigned, so there will be no investigation due to his resignation.
He had 2 board members who voted along with him and all 3 voted against filling the vacant position so the board would have 7 members instead of 6 so votes were always 3-3.
they voted not to fill the lake this year but outrage from owners made the president change his vote with some provisions he was not allowed to do. The 3 voted not to have a lake inspection or dam inspection. The last inspection was in 1974, 15 years after the lake was built. There should have been inspections regularly over the years but it was ignored until now. There will be election results in a couple weeks and hopefully there will be some new faces on the boardbchankParticipantI just received the agenda for the June 11 meeting of the SSS Assn. Executive Committee. The first item on the agenda is:
“Investigation of Allegations against President”.
Does anybody have any additional information on this?SnowShoeParticipantPer the BTV website inspections begin on July 10:

DembyParticipantI’ve left Will several messages over the past two months with no reply. Perhaps he is out of business. I also need someone to check out my furnace and fireplace. Anyone else around Big Trees that can do this?
