We highly recommend Snider Snow and Stump for snow removal (and tree maintenance!). We have used their services for several years and we are very happy with their work!

If you recently purchased a cabin in BTV in Camp Connell and Dorrington you will also need snow removal. In heavy storms you can expect berms to be blocking driveways and up to 8 ft tall in heavy storms. Berms this tall are impossible to shovel. The county does not allow cars to park on the road while snow removal is going on. Don’t get stuck! Buy your contract now Snider’s Snow Removal 209 795-2847 or snidersnowremoval@outlook.com

I definitely second the recommendation for Hampton Ranch, we get 2 cords every two years from them. Always excellent almond. One thing to note is that I think they will only deliver to Dorrington in 2-cord increments, due to the distance and the size of their truck. If you need less, coordinate with a neighbor to share the load.

Oh yes, it was seasoned! I even have a wood moisture meter and I test it each season, it is dry! Last year it was $325.00 a cord.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is the wood seasoned? And, if you don’t mind my asking, how much was it for a cord?

Yes, I have used Hampton Ranch for good, seasoned almond. They deliver and they give you a bag of almonds too from their farm! Highly recommend them! 209-874-4894

Does anyone know of a place to buy hardwood firewood (eg.oak, almond)? We have plenty of softwood (pine, cedar). Thanks in advance!

I ended up purchasing one of those antennas and I was able to get signals from Monterey (NBC & ABC)! I occasionally get signals from Sacramento (CH 31) but it is spotty at best. I am at 5160′ and the antenna is on a 7′ mast.

My next step is to find someone who will climb the big pine tree (100’+ tall) next to my house and mount it up there.

I also have seen many more squirrels and types of squirrels at my place. My guess is that they cleared a lot of forest nearby and drove them out.

I’m probably going to step on some toes with this, but I would not object to making bigtreestech a pay site. Wouldn’t have to be expensive, but any kind of a paywall should keep out the catfishers.

So happy you’re keeping the site going! I’m no longer on Facebook and this site is my primary resource for all things Big Trees/Dorrington.

One thing: I use WordPress for my organization’s website. When I’m logged into WP I also seem to have editing privileges here- I’m not sure if is additional security you can apply to keep the riff raff like me out of this site’s architecture?
