Take the dirt road past White Pines lake about 1.5-2 miles. There is a nice cut out on the side of the road that is very popular. Keep going and you will see a spot down hill on the right that also used.

We will be at our cabin at a time that includes a birthday celebration. The Dorrington Hotel dining room is long gone, Tallahans is no more and Sarafina’s is not open on Mondays. Please suggest a nice place for dinner on Monday. Anywhere between Murphys and Bear Valley would be fine. Many thanks.

    Hi,
We have an outside storage area for our hot water heater where chickarees (Douglas squirrels) are having a grand time chewing up the insulation and generally making a mess. We think we’ve determined how to keep them out, but now we need to do some major clean up of the area. Do you have any suggestions for people who would do this kind of work?

    Thanks!

I do appreciate everything they do to keep the wires clear. We have experienced the outages, including the one this past Sat. night. We just want to do the right thing concerning these big trees. Thank you to all who gave advice.

I agree on Mark Canton. Go to the Yelp site Canton Construction, and check the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures. That is my place. New siding, decks, and windows.

Two years ago I bought firewood from John Paul who works at the hardware store. Good guy, good price..

FYI, Greg is also an auto mechanic, welder, fabricator, and does repair work on all sorts of things like splitters, snowmobiles, etc.

We had King Parrish of Sonora install rain gutter guard (not sure of the brand as it was several years ago) and also replaced many downspouts with rain chains. No need to purchase fancy copper ones, most chains work just fine.

Thank you for the info. We have tried Lowe’s with no success. It is an electric wall heater. We will try Calaveras Climate.

According to the door tag left on homes where no one is home:

    Dots mean trim

    X means need to remove.

The colors mean something. Some need trimming, some need removing, some seem to get painted for no reason.
We have 2 trees on the street with blue from 3 years ago, orange from 2 years ago and pink from last year. They didn’t do anything to the trees. The white paint from last year meant removal and they removed one of our trees.
