Is there much smoke drifting over the Big Trees Village area from the various fires to the north and south?

Anybody know the rules on firing weapons near homes? Someone is active on SPI land having quite the, uh, blast. Hunting cedars and pines, I expect, just don’t want my kid nicked. Labor day the sheriff was up looking for who was firing shotguns that day which makes me think all this nose shouldn’t be so close, anyone know?

Actually the Irene fire started on on the 14th due to lightning. It smoldered for a day before the winds kicked it up and the smoke became visible from the lower parking lots at the ski resort.

A fire was started by lightening yesterday north of Bear Valley about half way between Hwy 4 and Hwy 88. You can keep up to date on the fire here:

I waited to late in the season to get Kevin Dye to paint my cabin.. He is booked solid. I see that someone recommend Colletta Painting. Does anyone else have suggestions?
Also, when I googled Colletta Painting, it said Sonora, is that correct?
I just might have to wait until spring. 🙁
Update: Good news, he is giving me an estimate today…

We saw a small one on Navajo a couple of years ago. It was pouncing on bugs in the middle of the road mid-day

That is a big bear, great picture! Oh, and this was the 2nd time a bobcat has walked up my driveway in about a month!

Roscelli finished roofing our cabin in July. Also took care of misc., replacing of boards, new gutters.
Professional, easy to work with.

Just had my roof done by Roscelli Roofing. John was real good to do business with, and did a great job at a reasonable price. Another un-named local roofer refused to answer any questions and submitted a higher bid for less work.
