The Humane Society Thrift Store to the right of Big Trees Market will take them.

We have a wicker chair & ottoman we’d like to give away. I know we are too late for the summer flea market, but will they still take donations for the next one? Any place else that might want to have it. It’s in good condition and pretty sturdy, just old.

As a part-timer, it’s sometimes it’s hard to support local businesses (I usually bring provisions so I can R&R while up) so I hope I can start of string of recommended and sometimes overlooked local business.

    To start:
I washed my filthy car at the coin-op car wash across from Big Trees Market. For $5.00 my car is super clean, the bugs and dust are off and I also applied a liquid wax to my car. All in 10 minute. I did take towels to dry my car but I consider the wash a bargain and a huge timer saver.

Big Trees Market’s price on Rombauer chardonnay is several dollars less per bottle than Bay Area prices and the produce section keeps getter fresher with a very good selection.

What about pets paws (i.e.; cats & dogs)?

it is ‘not’ recommended on cloth. I couldn’t figure out how to edit my first post…..

Paint thinner for pine sap. And, as you know, water works on cedar sap.

Cold water. Not hot or soapy just cold water. My car sits under sap filled trees and the only thing that works to remove it is to rinse it with cold water early in the morning before the sun warms up the car. Or if you can wait, let the first rain rinse away the sap. Good luck.

Mayonnaise works well on most surfaces from cars to feet. However, it is recommended on cloth, as it will leave grease stains. It is really gross to apply, but it works!

My (teenage) daughter loves to put fruit on a stick and roast it while others are making s’mores. She enjoys apples, nectarines and peaches.

Many thanks to all who responded to my request for a tree sap solution. I actually have a bit of Coleman fuel. I’ll give it a go.

Wow, great suggestions! Thanks! I’m going to get ingredients for most of them. Since brown sugar isn’t on the okay list I am going to substitute date honey. To make date honey, put medjool dates in a crock pot, cover with water and cook until they turn into a paste, adding more water as necessary. Amazing in tea, oatmeal, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, etc. I store mine in the freezer and scoop out what I need, it doesn’t get hard.

Several suggestions… Try sliced salami on a stick over the camp fire. All the fat melts out and it has a spicy bacon flavor. Or, make Italian smores… use the salami described above with provolone or swiss cheese on Triscuit crackers. It sounds weird, but really good!
