Per Paul Petersen from Bear Valley Adventure Company: Noble Lake is a no go at this time. Mosquito Lake is still partly frozen and that is 700 feet lower.

Does anyone know if the trail from Ebbetts Pass to Noble Lake is passable now, since there was so little snow? And would the wildflowers be out this early?
    Thanks.

Last weekend we raked all day, then burned from 7pm to 10pm. That took care of about 2/3 of the pile. The next day I loaded the remaining pile into my van and took it to Rowley’s. He carefully measured my load at just under 2 cubic yards and charged me $11.
I’ve decided that if you can’t burn during the day, while you are raking, it doesn’t make sense to stay up at night and sit there just to feed the fire (when you can only burn at night). Even if you have lots of “cold drinks”.
Next time, I will haul everything to Rowley’s and be done with it…
And anyone who burns, knows that the pile stays hot for 2 days afterwards, so you have to keep an eye on it…or soak it good….

There will be a “soft opening” of the backyard at Camp Connell, Saturday, 5/24, starting for lunch and continuing for ???
Soft opening = Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Fries, Beverages. Live music will start mid June but good neighbors and good company starts NOW!

Last Thursday, our phone was working fine on El Camino Bootstrap. On Friday it was dead. Called ATT and, by sending a signal, they said it was on their side of my box. The tech came out on Saturday and had to go over to a terminal on Ottawa to fix the phone. Got it working within 30 minutes. I still don’t know what the problem was…

I use a leaf blower to clean my roof. I have also used a rake that I slide into a long PVC pipe when I don’t want to get up on the rooftop. Drill a hole thru both and hold it in place with a screw and nut, worked great.

CalWaste took over the business this past year. The rules have changed a bit on the bins. For years now I have gotten a 20 yard bin and they would leave it for as long as I needed, I would call for pick up when I was done. New rule is you only get it for 1 week. If you need it longer they charge you per day extra. Cost has also gone up like everything else in life.

When I have hired Ash-Away to clean my chimney, they are happy to also blow off the roof while they are up there..

I use a long pole of conduit with a broom duct taped to one end to get needles out of valleys and from around vent pipes. This year I hauled everything to millers.

Abouyt the only thing I can’t do myself is sweeping my roof. Any suggestions as to who to call? I wouldn’t mind them doing all my raking and hauling, but the roof is the main concern.
    Thanks,
    Gary
