bwirwinParticipant
A few years back there was a very nice gentleman who was a Comcast higher up and active on this website. He was able to help a few users with some problems. I’m having a Comcast service problem down in the bay that is affecting my whole neighborhood. I was hoping someone remembered his user name here so I can get in touch with him and have him give me a little direction. Finger crossed, I’m at wits end.
Thanks, Brandy

CalBearParticipantTry Ebbetts Pass Sporting Good website at http://www.ebbettspasssportinggoods.com (use their full website, not mobile I believe) to access Bill’s weekly fishing report. Also, I don’t believe Utica produces much action…Union is the one that is planted between the two lakes.
everikParticipantMy wife and I hiked PCT from Ebbetts to Lower Kinney lake. Lots of snow on the trail. From the trail, we could see Kinney Reservoir. There were cars there in the side of Hiway 4. Highway is open all the way over.
SierrashooParticipantAs I post another wildfire warning coming from CalFire. Please make responsible choices.
SierrashooParticipantPlease, please. No more personal fires of any kind this summer. BLM has banned any fire – campfire permit notwithstanding. There’s even a ban on smoking outdoors. It’s 90 degrees outside right now according to my thermometer. One good poppy log could be disastrous no matter how well you’ve constructed your fire pit. If you need to entertain kids, consider setting up an outdoor sheet/projection area. Microwave some smores or do old fashioned popcorn on your stove top. PLEASE. When I smell your fire it’s not in any way shape or form comforting. Autumn will be here soon enough, and will the rain. We can do this all again then.
lawverParticipantMeant NOT effective on last line sorry.
lawverParticipantI have seen enough breakers that appear to be untripped which in reality are. Rather than hiring an electrician for a major rewire or investing in surge protectors, I would simply replace the breaker.
Breakers can and do wear out and fail. One that is pseudo tripped may now be beyond its useful life.
Surge protectors have a narrow effective use window and usually don’t. Lightening and high voltage lines dropping onto power lines when a drunk takes out a power pole are not incidents where surge protectors are effective.
KarockerParticipantNo smoke. We have been here all week and the air quality is great.
carlshomeParticipantThanks Scott.
rswheeler1ParticipantI just returned to the Bay Area from BTV. I got up there on Monday. There is no smoke in the area.
scott
carlshomeParticipantHow is the smoke in Big Trees today? I’m thinking of coming up tomorrow AM.
Thanks,
Carl
PKParticipantThanks for the tips all.
None of the appliances plugged into that circuit were damaged; the plugs simply didn’t have power, as if the breaker had been tripped. Strange thing is, it didn’t trip. I switched the breaker off and then back on and everything was working again. The place was built in 1990, so the panel and wiring is fairly modern. Never seen a circuit fail like that without tripping the breaker and wondered if anyone else has.
Ptown MattParticipantWe all want to be responsible and follow the law….things can happen that we don’t anticipate. I am putting on a warm coat if I get cold this summer.
BootstrapParticipantYou’d be amazed at how many power strips are “counterfeit”…i.e. they have no manufacturer’s name on them and are not UL approved. Best to check that you have the “real thing” before loading them up. 😉
uttbParticipantWasn’t started by a warming fire and this isn’t about the fire, it’s about legal and responsible. Try to tell campers in the park they shouldn’t have fires
