chrisParticipant
Mine is not working.
dmdougParticipantMany thanks again for the Hampton Ranch recommendation! We had a cord delivered on Saturday, and we were very pleased. We ended up with 1/2 almond and 1/2 oak because they’re already starting to get low on almond. It was $350, a little extra for the oak.
Again our Big Trees neighbors came to the rescue!
michelle sParticipantThat would be very exciting, since their habitat is usually much further south. It’s possible that climate change is driving them north to us, though. Keep eyes peeled!
ladyknitterParticipantNo, long tail, beautiful dark patterned spots, striped pattern. Perhaps someone’s pet!? Bobcat was the first thought, also different ears than a bobcat.
michelle sParticipantI assume you mean a bobcat? There’s one, or several, that pass through our neighborhood regularly.
ladyknitterParticipantWe saw an ocelot on Shoshone between Sierra Parkway and Ottawa Wednesday afternoon October 28. Did anybody else see anything like this?
bigtreestechmanKeymasterWe had some wind Sunday night but nothing to write home about. Lots of pine needles but I have not seen any trees or branches down. And yet, PG&E shut down the power Sunday afternoon, Comcast internet and ATT landline failed a few hours later, and they are not expecting restoration until tonight.
TypeauxParticipantUnless the folks up in Dorrington/Camp Connell have generators, you might not get a response. PG&E shut down power yesterday and around 4:00pm and it will be out until some time tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct 27).

cmon4dayParticipantHey all, How was the big blow last night? Very many trees down? Any damage? Down here in the Bay Area the wind was howling.
bigtreestechmanKeymasterIn case you had not heard, PGE is expected to shut down power to Dorrington, and much of Northern California, starting this afternoon with restoration expected Tuesday, 10/27/2020, late evening.
While BigTreesTech does have UPSs, they don’t last long and comcast internet usually goes out within a few hours of loss of power.
See you on the flip side!gagacabinParticipantMichelle took the words right out of my mouth. Never had an issue once we started with Snyder. Highly recommend.
michelle sParticipantCouldn’t agree more about Sniders. We made the unfortunate mistake of contracting with others for snow removal our first few years and were very frustrated. I noticed our neighbors always getting great service while we were still waiting to be able to get out, and that’s how I found Sniders. They are ON IT. A couple of times I had to resist the urge to run out there with coffee and cookies, I was so happy to see how hard they were working, even when the power was out.
philhutchParticipantWe highly recommend Snider Snow and Stump for snow removal (and tree maintenance!). We have used their services for several years and we are very happy with their work!
Snider Snow and StumpParticipantIf you recently purchased a cabin in BTV in Camp Connell and Dorrington you will also need snow removal. In heavy storms you can expect berms to be blocking driveways and up to 8 ft tall in heavy storms. Berms this tall are impossible to shovel. The county does not allow cars to park on the road while snow removal is going on. Don’t get stuck! Buy your contract now Snider’s Snow Removal 209 795-2847 or snidersnowremoval@outlook.com

michelle sParticipantI definitely second the recommendation for Hampton Ranch, we get 2 cords every two years from them. Always excellent almond. One thing to note is that I think they will only deliver to Dorrington in 2-cord increments, due to the distance and the size of their truck. If you need less, coordinate with a neighbor to share the load.
