Hi all- my niece, who’s from Murphys, teaches in an inner city school in Oakland, and every spring she brings her graduating 8th graders up to our area to celebrate their graduation and visit Calaveras Big Trees. For many this will be their first time camping-for some it will be their first time out of Oakland! If you’re able, please consider supporting this trip and sharing with your friends and communities. Thanks!
gagacabinParticipantI enjoyed the short video. Will be fun to see what you do next.
Good luck.rswheeler1ParticipantWhen you get ready to fly it, do it in the house. Especially if you have high ceilings. That way it won’t get lost in the trees while you’re perfecting your skills.
Good luck,
Scott1BuddyParticipantHi Joe, how much is needed?

gagacabinParticipantHi,
Happy Birthday, Big Trees Tech Mom.bigtreestechmanKeymasterIf you have a place prone to flooding you might want to check on it. We have had over 6 inches of rain this week and about half of that came down yesterday. It was a pretty impressive storm!
bigtreestechmanKeymasterupper right side of the front page of the site you should see a yellow button that says Donate. It links to my paypal page.
rswheeler1ParticipantHow do I donate? I don’t see anything to click on.
ScottbigtreestechmanKeymasterThanks, Flyer!
From what I understand, and have seen verified in several youtube videos, the Platinum is supposed to be noticeably quieter than the original Mavic Pro so it sounds like I’ve made a good choice.FlyerParticipantI have the Mavic Pro and it is a lot quieter then the previous models. Also the stability and distance it will send and receive video is almost 4 fold.
bigtreestechmanKeymasterDJI Mavic Pro Platinum with the “Fly More” package.
FlyerParticipantWhat model and brand is it?
bigtreestechmanKeymasterThere is a new, very portable, very quiet drone model available that I have considered getting for the purpose of adding weekly (or almost) aerial videos to BigTreesTech. I have thought of doing this in the past but was put off by the bulk of early drones as well as the very annoying bee hive noise they made. This new model is significantly quieter, it folds up and can easily fit in a small day pack, and it comes equipped with a very high resolution, stabilized video camera.
At the moment, the BigTreesTech donation account is close, but not quite close enough to the amount needed to purchase the drone. I would personally contribute the difference if it weren’t for the fact that a good friend just put her beautiful 5-string violin up for sale and that purchase takes precedence 🙂
gagacabinParticipantThat sounds very interesting.
